Oh I can reproduce this, but you need to load Discourse in portrait and then move to landscape for it to trigger. I guess we could add a listener to phone rotations, but it is kinda of a corner case.

Why would you need a listener? The page should just automatically reflow on viewport size change.

Settings won’t save even when I select a time frame. Trying to re-up expired people and Discord won’t allow me to save because it keeps telling me to select a time frame. The message pops up for all available time frames, which I selected and tried.

The last time I was in this menu the longest option was 4 months, but now there are other options, so something changed on the back-end and broke in the process.

It only shows unread posts if they’re the last poster. (You can’t read that last post if it’s hidden.) I agree this is annoying, particularly if you have a prolific poster on ignore…

The latest Discourse update, which helpfully took around 7 times as long as normal to apply explaining the past 40 minutes of downtime, now supports automatic dark mode theme switching. As a corollary effect, if your OS is in dark mode it will switch you right now, which may be jarring. Everything is OK. You’re fine. Breathe! In through your nose, out through your mouth. Don’t reverse that, and I’m not saying this to freak you out, just a word of friendly warning, but you may well die. Anyway …

So I think I’ve finally locked down what causes a bug I’ve seen forever. I have some people muted, and sometimes threads show up in my unread when these people post in them, but when I click through them there’s nothing there. There’s not one of the usual messages about a hidden post that you can click and see, and also once another post comes in I think it still doesn’t allow me to see it. These posts are just totally missing with no evidence. I’m not sure but I think they do show up if someone quotes them, but when you click the button in the quote to jump to that post you don’t see it. When you go back to unread the thread is still there, it doesn’t clear, provided the last poster was someone you have ignored.

Anyways, the secret sauce seems to be number of posts on the thread. I thought it was maybe specific users causing issues or ignore duration length but I see dropped user posts in long threads (because the thread itself in unread view shows you the user icon so I know who’s disappearing) and still see those users blocked posts (the clickable message thing) in short threads.
