What happened to youtube embeds? I used to be able to click on something to spawn a new window. Now I can’t do that and share the URL.

Was just coming here to report that… seems like youtube embeds are broken for me. I can see the preview of the video, but if I click on it, it doesn’t play, just gives an error.
I am in fact able to open the same videos in youtube itself and they play fine.
Works fine for me. Can you not play the above?

Works fine for me. You’re probably blocking something in an adblocker. I NOOP google.com and youtube.com in uBlock Origin for the Qt3 host.

Negative, no ad blockers at all on that machine. Not sure what changed, as it only started a few days ago.
Are you using some kind of VPN?

Actually I have figured out when Ignore: Forever doesn’t work. It’s when the ignored poster posts to a thread that you already have open. You’ll see his new posts as you scroll. I suppose this only applies to fast-moving threads, but there certainly have been plenty of those lately!
The workaround is to refresh the thread, and the new posts from the ignoree are blissfully hidden again.
If it helps, I’m having the exact same issue as Timex. I’m logged into my account, and on Firefox on OSX.
If I’m on chrome and not logged in, I didn’t have the same problem. I’ll have to break that down into logged in / not logged in on chrome to see if there’s a problem. I can also try firefox on my windows desktop.
I’ll report back if that can help someone narrow it down.
Note: embeds also don’t work on ipad OS / Safari. I have to open up the video, then request a mobile site for it to work.

Try visiting the Discourse demo site and see if the YouTube videos on there work…
And if you’re only seeing this problem on Firefox, try turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection.

I think chrome pushed out a mobile update in the last few days, people have been bitching about the new tab interface. Maybe it was a browser bug. I’ve seen a fair few of those in my time, and some only last 1 or 2 minor updates.

Work reimbursed me for an external wireless Magic Keyboard as part of work from home initiative and so, I find myself doing more surfing/email on the iPad instead of the notebook.
Discourse is still bad in displaying Qt3 huh? This is using Safari.
Portrait mode - look at how much wasted space. Why does the topics get squeeze so much?
Landscape is slightly better but still bad as half the screen are meaningless text. Do we need to show the Category?

The poster column has a fixed width and the category column doesn’t allow text to wrap. I’m sure if you scrolled down in those pages, you’d see Hardware and technical stuff occupying the full width of the category column. Meanwhile the topic column is stuck with whatever space is left over.
