Maybe it’s a browser thing? That doesn’t look like a poll to me, here’s a screenshot of what I see:
This is in Chrome.

No option in the drop down either.
Yup, if I load it in Firefox it comes up properly for me too.
Poll builder work for me in Chrome 126.0.6478.183.
@vinraith Have you tried deleting cache and cookies? That tends to resolve most issues I’ve had with Discourse.
If you put a thread on Normal notifications, you won’t get an update bubble for it unless you’re directly replied to or quoted in thread.
I had to update to Chrome 126.0.6478.183 before it started working again.
(This update also resolved the issue of YouTube embeds not working properly.)
I’ve just been browsing on Firefox (which is my default browser anyway, I’d switched to browsing the forum on Chrome because of an earlier browser issue that seems to be resolved) but I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
Both are still the same for me and I’m on that Chrome version on my phone.
Seems more likely to be some kind of style caching issue.
I run Firefox beta myself so you can be sure any issues will be seen.
I’m getting really frustrated by embedded youtube videos replaying as I scroll. I watch it, I pause it and scroll and 30 seconds later it restarts on its own.
Only way to stop it is to back out & come back into the thread.
FFS discourse.
Should not be happening, suggest posting the bug to their meta forums.
I got around that by using firefox. No more embedded youtube videos. They just don’t work, only seeing an unclickable image.
Edit: Well, that’s on me, apparently. I am using uBlock to hide some elements and it seems to mess with youtube embeds. Not happening on Chrome though. Oh well.
I just hit F5, which kind of does the same thing for you.
That’s good to know. I am getting the same youtube imbed behaviour
For the past few days, in Chrome on Android, YouTube embeds have been rendering for me just as images.
Problem solved! Clearing the cache did the trick.
Thanks @sharaleo !
Yep. Anytime I have a problem with Discourse, clearing the cache usually fixes it. That’s troubleshooting step #1 for me. #2 is disabling plug-ins such as ad-blockers.
If you’re on Firefox, typing “about:cache” then selecting “List Cache Entries” will show you everything currently stored in the cache. It’s full of javascript, stylesheets, etc, so if something is broken, it will remain broken until the cache is cleared.
How do I unbookmark stuff? I’ve somehow bookmarked a couple of threads but have no idea how that’s supposed to work.
