Hey, how can I get Discourse to do X?

I’m unable to edit posts that are more than a few weeks old. Is this intentional? I’d like to tidy up a couple top posts and a thread header in a gaming thread I’ve made. Annoyingly, there’s no longer an edit button for much of what I would like to edit.

I didn’t think there was a time limit for this stuff.

I have the same issue. I went to add a title to a game once they finally gave it a title, can’t edit the top post to do it.

No issue with Discourse remembering where I was in any thread either on the desktop or Android Chrome today. So it’s not a forum wide issue. I wonder what’s causing it.

Fwiw I’m having this issue too (Android Chrome), started a day or two ago.

Well, I just disabled Lite Mode and that seemed to fix it.

Yup, just happened again. Turning Lite Mode back on again fixed it (I assume temporarily).

Might be linked to an issue with a specific version of Chrome maybe. Still no issues for me.

If you mean just on the main page, a hard refresh fixes it for me. Otherwise I dunno. I’m running an upgrade now, maybe there was a bug.

Still happening here on my tablet (Android 8). Possible workaround, but I’m not sure as I’m still playing around with it: clicking on the thread from the main page reproduces the issue consistently, but clicking first into the subforum and then on the thread leads to Discourse remembering my thread reading progress.

Ugh, this is fucking obnoxious. My phone just does not report read state 80% of the time now. Bog standard Android Chrome, up to date. Basically have had to stop consuming Qt3 on mobile.

How I yearn for the days of Tapatalk :(

Yeah it’s the same for me, but refreshing fixes it. So I browse a few threads, realize that it’s not updating, pull down refresh on the thread list page, and then go back to browsing.

Google effed up chrome on mobile recently. This isn’t the only site I’ve been having issues with.

Are you all on Android reading the forum via the app (installed via Chrome) or via the Chrome browser? I haven’t had any issues when using the app on Android so far.

I’m now in the habit of hitting refresh first, when I pull this up on my phone.
