Hey, how can I get Discourse to do X?

That doesn’t do much good.
So far, if a thread has 7 unread posts, I click on it and read it. If I move to another thread, it still shows the 7 unread. If a new post comes up, it shows 8 unread posts, and it takes me to the the first post it thinks I have read.

It’s getting really frustrating. Do we know if this bug is being looked at?

Desktop mode seems to fix it, but it’s not all that great an option on the phone.

Android push notifications stop working

I appear to have lost push notifications to desktop & Android since the last update v2.4.0.beta2 +33 Has anyone else experienced this?

Just as a datapoint: I view the forum on an Android phone from the Chrome browser and haven’t had this be an issue. I also get push notifications no problem.

So, I tried using the chrome browser instead of the app, and I am having mixed results. Sometimes it marks the thread as read, and sometimes it doesn’t.

Not exactly the fix I was hoping for.

Yup, I’m noticing this. In the Bargain Thread (IIRC), every time I go to see what’s new I get treated to the Rage Intensifying meme with a young Al Pacino as Michael Corleone (which was a post from yesterday).

I’m having the same issue on mobile. Switching themes seems to sometimes help briefly, but the problem keeps showing up within the hour.

They are apparently working on it, so hopefully a fix is forthcoming soon.

One fix for me is to scroll all the way down until you see the related threads, then hit the home logo rather than the back button. Then my position gets saved. Leaving without rescuing the end or by using back seems much less reliable.

Opening a reply window and immediately canceling it via the trash icon works too. Thank goodness, this was driving me nuts.
