It’s a bug, I don’t think we can do anything about it. Could be expired session or something so that it’s not saving the new page navigation correctly and then when you go back it remembers the last thing it saved.

Should we call @Clay about this? Naw. He’s a busy guy.

It’s been happening to me for months and months so I don’t think there’s anything to do. :)

This becomes an issue for me every few months and persists for a few weeks or more each time. It’s maddening for my forum “workflow” on mobile, and there’s never been any definitive answer on why it happens or why it stops. Wumpus himself looked into it at some point in this thread, IIRC.

Wumpus: The problem is that you, the user, thinks that they know where they want to be. Discourse is telepathic. It knows what you want. Better than you do.

I’m still devastated he’s gone.

When did Discourse start removing entire lines or paragraphs?

So I contact the website owners through this thread.
I just can’t access the thread. Uh.

That error means you have an adblock installed.

Using uBlock Origin on Firefox I can reproduce the same thing in any topic that has the word “ads” in the title.

For about 3 weeks I have been seeing large white blank areas where there should be, I guess, photos or embedded videos…

Same here.

You’re either blocking something with an adblocker or your browser is blocking it due to mixed content security. Typically this happens when the image/video or whatever is hosted on a non-HTTPS site or the website has an invalid certificate.

I disabled my blockers, refreshed the page, and still have the same issue.

Unfortunately I don’t even understand your 2nd possible option.

For a non-techie, how would I correct that with Firefox?

Thank you for the response.

You can’t, it will happen when someone links a non-HTTPS resource. Would break for everybody.

Same here, all videos embedded in Twitter links now just show a blank space or a generic “media can’t be played” error.

In Firefox its most likely to be Enhanced Tracking Protection doing it. Click the little shield on the left of the address bar and you’ll see a button to turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection. You may also need to delete cookies for the site as well.

Well, that got me from a blank space to “The media could not be played”, so… progress?

I’m sure this has been asked an answered, but I have not read through this thread.

Is there a way to block (so I can’t see) a specific individual’s posts in a thread? One guy is semi-trolling in a game thread, he’s quite annoying, and I’d rather not have even read his non-funny jabs at the game. Nor do I want to call him out as a troll and get into a stupid forum fight.

Thanks in advance.

You can temp-ignore someone forum-wide for a span of time by visiting your preferences page: https://forum.quartertothree.com/u/tylertoo/preferences/users

@arrendek made a forum script to allow permanent ignore that I think still works.

AFAIK, neither work on a per-thread level of granularity, though.

Awesome, thanks so much.
