You think? You’ll beat me to the second future star sure (almost had it), but I’m pretty sure I’m getting the third (and I’ll grab power back for the 5vp, and I’m 1 prospect short of the ‘V’ venture, with an open 6V next to my rocket). I’m not in a place where I can check the game state so I can’t recall for sure.
We can try. I think it would be hard unless we start shooting each other, honestly.
Certainly, if I get the future the game starts to end soon (you get the third and I get the fourth 6 turns later or somebody else does before me).
Edit: Then again I might be missing something. You certainly have played this more.
2nd Edit: and in a Nth reading of the rules I do agree with you the you in the rules is referring to the player attempting the future (so robots are out since I’m not the emancipator). But I feel weird because it does put me in the lead (I think)… On the other hand, if I had realized it in the previous election cycle I could have easily gotten the first future star, so maybe it’s even?
I really want to get to the postmortem…

That’s how I read it, too.
Ok, this is going to be interesting then. Very tight still, but I think I might have the advantage.
I was certainly sure Grunden had the game pretty much from the moment he emancipated… And I’m kicking myself for not having read the rule correctly earlier (I kept thinking the card text was valid until Grunden went for his future and explained futures differed in the rules…)
If we agree this is so, sharaleo, please put one of my Glory disks on the future star (and bust the Glory space).
Oh, I see the ambiguity now. Count emancipated robots for the election, but not for the purpose of the claiming future unless you are the emancipator attempting the future.
I am happy to reverse my previous interpretation and go with the growing consensus.
Yeah, it took me a while to parse it.
NASA claims Supreme Cult Leader future. Mercury Glory Disk retired in order do so.
PRC exercises faction privilege and moves political marker to WAR. Because why not.
PRC crew free markets Ti/K Heat Pipe for 4 WT.
Refinery added to rocket stack. Mass adjusted to 8. Rocket fueled with 2 tanks of fuel. Rocket afterburns for 2 steps, setting accel 7 and moves to vesta. Free pivot, 4 burns total, 3 tanks total consumed.
Inspirations performed on freighter and colonist decks - Smart Pets and HIIPER Beam Rider revealed.
RRMU pay 1 WT to industrialise vesta, decommissioning robonaut, refinery, reactor and generator in the process. UN does not get paid on account of being at WAR.
Over to Shimizu.
Incidentally, Grunden, you have a generic marker on your Future Star. I think that needs to be changed to a claim marker, correct? If so, Nikolaj, could you exchange it for one of his unused claim markers?

I doubt I would’ve let you win the election then… I had a lot more cash then, and you weren’t quite as flush.

Bah, I knew I should have bid something on that second election.

Done!
Rocket lands on Miahelena where Survivalists pay 1 WT to ISRU refuel it (2 steps). Freigther moves out of the Ceres cluster. Crew and Pantrophists sell Cascade Photovoltaic and and Lyman Alpha Trap for a total of 7 WTs.
Over to ESA!
Free market is at 3WT per card due to PRC moving the policy marker. That’s 5WT net for you, not 7.

I realized my mission is useless. I turn around and fly back to Enceladus. I can’t pay for FINAO, so I’m rolling.

Safe! Also, ESA ET produces Arcjet Robonaut at Enceladus.
I’ll dock Shmizu 2 WT.
UN up for year 49.

I used my one remaining claim marker for the future star. Juan, which claim marker are you going to use for the second star? Claim marker use is getting critical at this point.

Turn 49
Victory point correction, and using my claim disk for the 1st future star (it was always available, so I did not get the benefit of it being in space for 2 turns).
UN Crew promotes Squid Turing
Babbage Halbonauts ET produce freighter (again)
Freighter takes on Neuman Turing and attempts landing (again): 5… success!
Neumann attempts Epic Hazard Op for Von Neumann Future: 6… success! Using one of the V claim disks for 3rd future star.
Rocket realizes it wasted a turn with the V claims and returns to S site for 2 fuel steps.
3WT spent on ops, 1WT robot income
NASA you’re up for the endgame.
I don’t understand why you didn’t go for the V venture… (Unless you wanted me to go for it?)
Anyway, I’m out till Monday, so I need somebody to do my turns.
Next one will be moving the rocket to the M site with the science star, prospecting (auto success, use whatever is neither the C factory claim nor my V site without a factory), dropping a factory and doing two free market ops. Should be net 4WT for the turn. UN gets nothing due to not being at peace.
Grunden or sharaleo, could you do this for me, please?
Grunden

Not enough claim disks. I would have had to abandon 2 factories to do so; and the factories are worth more points.
As such, I need to know what claim disk you want to put on the 2nd future star as well as for the prospect, so you need to come up with 2 disks. The only disks without factories are Hertha (3M asteroid), Mercury (10V), a Glory disk (-2VP), and your venture disk (-3VP). The others are the Jupiter C site, and your 3 TNO labs you’ve just spent the last several turns building. Hertha is the only “gimme” if you want to keep the V site, so you’ve got to make the decision.
Eh, I alredy used a glory disk for the second future. It should be claimed and I should have 1 glory and 1 venture. For the prospect use the other M claim.
You can have a max of 5 factories so with futures plus glory/ventures you can use 4 disks. You have two futures, and can probably get just one more, so you should be able to claim that venture without hurting your VP?
You can not take away venture disks, per the rules. Those are permanent commitments.

I don’t see it, and I count 8 on the map, you’ve got 1 glory, 1 ventures, and 6 disks in space as the map stands now.
