Hip Interactive Insolvent

Hip Interactive is pretty much done.

I lost a couple Gs on this stock, personally. The next breakfast meeting at the Canadian Game Publishers Association is going to be pretty sparse…

Thought they were doing another Dead to Rights?

Nope. Namco retained all rights on that IP.

Hip Games was, however, working on a Call of Cthulhu SKU, as well as the George A Romero license.

All they did was port the game to PC.

Was that the Cthulhu game that has been in the works for years? Damn, I had hoped to see that one some day…

No, that’s being made by UK based Headfirst, under the watchful eye of Bethesda.

Oh, that’s good. Then I don’t care as much about Hip Games. :P

There are actually 2 Cthulhu games currently under development, both by Headfirst. The first one, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, is ā€œunder the watchful eye of Bethesdaā€ (and had been previously bounced around some, IIRC). The second one, Call of Cthulhu: Destiny’s End, was slated for publishing by Hip.
