Holy Crap, Gametab is handy! (Late to the Party)

I was so used to checking gamerankings for links to reviews (as it is in my Favorites list) that I assumed Gametab was more of the same when I saw it mentioned here. I decided (with my Nexagon fixation) to check there for any word of new reviews today. I had seriously, never ever visited the site.

Let me repeat: Holy Crap! There is a ton of organized and easy to navigate links there. I know one of you monkeys work on the site and/or own the site. I just wanted to say how nice the site is and let anyone know that was in a gamerankings rut like me, to check it out.

Sorry if I am preaching to the choir and I was the only one on the planet not to see GameTab yet.

Great site. Here’s my favorite part:

Where have I been? This is a fantastic site.

Thanks for the link.

Yeah, that’s one of two great web tips I’ve gotten off QT3 lately. (The other was the new Google toolbar beta that lets you block popups…)

Heh… there is something amusing about a portal site that summarizes stuff on other portal sites. It’s getting to the point where organizing information is bigger business than providing it.

I hear that Levitate Me is a great site too.

Can I get a link?

That’s pretty much why I had passed it by. There is so much gathered there and it is so well organized that it is an incredibly useful tool for the gamer who is a chronic surfer. I maaaaay fall into that category.

http://toolbar.google.com/ amazingly enough.

Couldn’t he have googled for a link?

I’ve also found Metacritic to be a useful source of PC game meta-reviews. It tends to use fewer relatively unknown publications than Game Rankings.

That’s what I did :D

WOW gametab rocks! Sums up the links from all the other gaming sites that I always jump around to. Thanks for the notice. :D

Hasn’t it always been like that? Before Internet search engines, there was LexisNexis. They made huge gobs of money helping people find relevant information.

Yeah, I’ve been going to GameTab for a while now, and I find it an almost indispensable tool in keeping up with gaming news.

GameTab is the gaming site I visit most now. It’s a great idea, I can’t imagine how no one came up with it years before!

I visit it MANY times a day… its seriously of of the best sites out there.

Sure, but how many layers of organization do we need? I mean, sites like Blues and Voodoo Extreme already summarize game news, and now we have a site to summarize those sites. Pretty soon we’ll have multiple GameTab-like sites, and we’ll need a site to summarize all the stuff that goes up on them. And so on.

It’s madness!

;)

Its like the porn links to sites with free content, Those sites are more links to free sites which are links to more free sites and you never actually get to any porn. Or at least no free porn. At least that’s what I hear. From Ben.

I like those search engine sites that embed themselves into your browser when you get a 404 or broken link. They are good.

etc

I wish Gametab could filter out redundant stories. The problem is that Blues and the other news sites have about a 90% overlap.

I like Gametab, but if I just go to Blues I see about 80-90% of the stories that appear in one form or another on Gametab. I’m not gaining a whole lot by visiting Gametab and then launching from there to visit individual stories. My click rate is lower if I just hit Blues.
