Horace, the story of a small robot.

So this seems like a hidden gem that I’ve seen zero discussion about, and I wouldn’t have even known about if not for @krayzkrok answering a few questions regarding it, being one of his Steam nominations for 2019.

That is a positive write up if I’ve ever seen one!

You should come visit the What will you play in the weekend thread sometimes, it’s not the first time our Krok is advocating it!
Me, I couldn’t get past the Dreamworks smirk of the main character. I’m that superficial.

Horace has a rather sad smirk, actually. Not sure if it’s the Dreamworks type.

To my eye, there isn’t an ounce of sadness but a lot of pride and condescension. I really can’t stand its expression.

“Sheepish smile” might be the correct term.

Don’t meld those lovely creatures to this, you hairy beast!

Seriously, Horace appears extremely depressed.

Or is there an “in joke” I am missing?

Started playing this last night, and it got a laugh out of me within seconds due to the developer splash screen, which I’m guessing will not mean a thing unless you are a 40+ Brit. A proper Proustian rush, it took me straight back to my childhood, sitting in front of my parents’ TV.

Benny Hill made sure this fanfare and logo got engraved into any 40+ Continentals’ mind too.

Danger Mouse back when I was a kid was my first into to that logo. :)

FREE over on EGS.

Installing now - 12GB seems awfully big for a platformer.

Trying this out; so far it’s like 80% cinematic and 20% game. I’m hoping that changes shortly (I’m not too far in, admittedly), because it’s not really grabbing me.
