How Many USB Devices are Connected to Your Computer, and What Are they?

I saw this posted on a Facebook Group and thought it might be a fun thread to do here! Which USB devices are connected to your computer? I’ll start!

Always Connected:

  • Mouse
  • MIDI Controller
  • Two Hard Drive Enclosures
  • Hub
  • Camera
  • Microphone
  • Headphones

Sometimes Connected:

  • Joystick
  • Throttle
  • Rudder Pedals
  • Head Tracker
  • Gamepad
  • Push-to-Talk Pedal

What about you?

  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Occasionally a gamepad

That’s about it.

I picked up a real sound card w/ integrated amp a few months ago, so my speakers and headset are no longer USB.

Mouse.
Headphones.

Constant:

  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • USB Hub that I use to connect joysticks/gamepads as needed.

Intermittent:

  • External HD every once in a while for backup purposes
  • Digital card reader (mostly to transfer stuff I record in my musical keyboard and the such)
  • portable USB drives
  • mobile phone connection cables (usually for backup purposes)
  • Track IR
  • Wacom-like tablet (a Genius one, in my case - very rare)

Hopefully one day:

  • a full-fledged digital audio interface like this one.

Mouse
Keyboard
Logitech gamepad
Microphone

Rarely the external HD or an SD card reader

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh…

Not to make games sound amazing like your Roland MIDI interface, though. Just to make recording music easier for me. ;)

Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad, Snowball Mic.

I did have some cool bias lightning plugged in for awhile there, but when I rearranged my office I put a lamp in that looks a lot nicer.

Mouse, keyboard, monitor, ethernet adapter, 3 USB3 hubs (2 separate, 1 in the monitor), 1 USB2 hub (in keyboard), and a USB3 3TB backup drive.

Keyboard
Mouse
Passport drive
Xbox dongle
Logitech dongle
2x Rift sensors
HOTAS

@BrianRubin , which push to talk pedal do you use?

Mouse, keyboard, 5.1 adapter, game controller (sometimes), aux cooling fan, and backup RAID (sometimes).
Daaayyum I am lame.

Got this last year, use it for our podcast. Works really well!

  • Headtracker and headtracker head unit (2 USB cables)
  • Joystick
  • Throttle unit (2 USB cables)
  • Rudder pedals
  • Racing wheel
  • Webcam
  • Microphone
  • Weird electric arc candle lighter which doesn’t work as well as a match or stick lighter

uuhhhhh…

No one plugs their phone into a USB port any more? Outside of mouse and keyboard and occasionally webcam, the phone is all I plug in.

I plug it into the wall.

To transfer pictures, yeah. I guess that counts.

Mouse

As needed:

Backup drive
iPod (!)
Camera (!!)
e-cig charger

Er…that doesn’t sound super safe…
