I think I’m vaguely interested in Fae Tactics and Iron Danger. I don’t think they’re probably worth $12 to me.
I enjoyed the lightmatter demo, this looks like its gonna be a great month!
I’m insane to even spend money on games when I have so many unplayed. I just recently purchased GW2’s expansions and played them long enough to get the mount and glider, and I’m already a bit tired of it.
But the Sunless games are some I always wanted to play and I’d like to reward good writing, so I may jump on this. There are a few others that look interesting too – not that I’m likely to play them!
We all know @Mark_Asher is getting the bundle mainly for Goat of Duty.
Ha ha – I did have to look at it to see what it was. They couldn’t even make the description interesting. I’m fighting other goats and maybe I’ll get a “hilarious costume” to wear!
Maybe I’ll be a completist and collect all the goat genre titles.
Wow, that’s an easy pass. I don’t own anything in that list and can’t say I particularly want to. Poor Tropico, I wish they’d stop making increasingly bad versions of a once-great franchise.
Tropico metacritic scores for the series (from 1 - 6):
85, 75, 79, 78, 75, 78
Which goes along with my personal experience as well. The first one felt fresh and different and over time it’s been about the same, with no real outstanding entries in the series.
In fact, I think I saw some people saying that this one was better than the last couple as well?
Anyways, the new month of games is live everybody.
Several items on my wishlist for this one. Good month for me. :)
The first was fresh and different, though it had some mechanical issues. The second wasn’t recognizably a Tropico game and doesn’t count, IMO. The third was the best the series has ever been with the addition of traffic solving the pathing problems from the first but the rest of the feel remaining the same. The fourth was a retread of the third with a lot of weird misfired attempts at humor shoehorned in. The fifth added a tower defense mode that was universally panned. The sixth, as far as I can tell, just add the ability to steal national monuments like a Bond villain, which is not what I want in my Tropico. YMMV.
Well if it substitutes as a modern engine Tropico 3 with a somewhat ignorable new feature, I think that’s worth something.

Another easy pause for me this month. I think Sunless Skies is the only one of those that I would have gotten around to installing.

Probably enough for me to stay in - Tropico 6, never tried the Sunless games, maybe Shadows and Iron Danger.
It was unclear to me, reading about it, how ignorable the new unwanted stuff was. I’ll certainly grant that a tidied up 3 on a newer engine would be worth something to me, though $12 probably wouldn’t be a good enough deal (especially given the inevitable DLC flood).
Maybe our resident Tropico every edition player @Nesrie (IIRC) can let us know once she gets around to playing 6. :D

So I guess Humble is just giving up on headline games? It’s all indie stuff now?
Good month for me too, but I’m confused. I’ve redeemed everything (Classic Plan) but I’ve only got Sunless Skies in my Steam library and can’t see Sunless Sea! I thought the bundle contained both?
It’s in your Humble library as a separate key.
It is indeed. Kinda expected the Steam key to be for the bundle and include both.
Thanks.
Tropico 6 is the headline game. ;)
I’ve paused for about 80% of the recent classic months. Either I already had the “headline” game and the other options weren’t great or I wasn’t interested in the headline game (and the other options weren’t great). IMHO at least this month there is enough quality games to interest without needing a AAA headliner.
