How well does Origins use the setting?
I already have a ton of AC games in my backlog (thanks Xbox), but I don’t think I have any good egypt stuff.
I have an early i7 from the same era (and a new 1050 Ti) and managed to make it work by dialing down some of the “vanity” details, like volumetric clouds. Some relatively minor features seem to eat a LOT of CPU. With that stuff adjusted, I was able to otherwise run it on high settings.
The game is very pretty! Now, if that’s a good use of the setting or you wanted something more… meaningful, I will let you decide.
Is this the one with the no fighting history lesson option? That’s great! Never played an AC game.
I tried the original AC and hated it. Was so bored. Hated all of it.
I tried AC Origins and am LOVING it. Seriously, the setting is WONDERFUL. And so gorgeous.
Yes, the discovery mode is pretty awesome.
Thanks guys, in for may :)

Good month for me. Mutant Year Zero, Northgard, and Minit all look cool, and I’m at least mildly curious about Dandara and She Remembered Caterpillars.
Dunno if AC Origins will be worth it for me. None of the Ubi open-world games I’ve dabbled in have held my attention for more than a couple of hours, and I already have a copy of Odyssey from the Project Stream beta waiting for me to get around to it.
Can someone remind me how the bundles work? I subscribed last month after a long time away from this. If you don’t want to continue getting it, at what point do you need to cancel?
About a week prior to the next bundle dropping. But if you don’t want the next one I would cancel now and not risk forgetting. Sure, you lose a couple perks but meh.
The last Friday of the month is when they charge your card if you haven’t bought the current bundle already for the headliners or paused, and the first Friday is when they reveal the hidden games of the bundle that’s ending, plus the headliner(s) of the bundle that’s just starting.
You went from AC1 direct to Origins? Wow. That’s… so much good and so much bad passed over. O.O
I really like Origins but I miss the crowd stealth mechanics from the older games. Those were cool.
AC1 soured me so much I skipped the rest, until I got to try Odyssey via Google Stream. I liked it enough to buy Origins.
See, AC 2 (the first part of the “Ezio Trilogy”) is when it actually became a game instead of a tech demo. It and AC Brotherhood were (maybe not “are”) must plays IMHO. The Italian Renaissance setting was amazing, particularly if you played with Italian VA and English subs (some of the “Italian” fake accents in English were eye-wateringly bad).
Is the Origins key for Steam or the Ubi launcher?
Yeah, AC2 and Brotherhood were my two favorites of the original series. I even enjoyed Revalations. Got off the train after the opening few hours of AC3, tried to enjoy Black Flag but couldn’t, and skipped the rest til the functional reset that is AC: Origins.
But see, that’s knowingly cheesy, so it’s awesome.
