Man, I want to laugh at this stuff but I can’t help but worry that there’s a decent chance I witness the end of American democracy in my lifetime. I’m worried we’re headed down the path of Poland, Hungary, Turkey, etc.
I just don’t know how democracy functions of s significant number of people believe the election was stolen. Nearly any step can be justified to rectify that sort of thing. Armed insurrection is seen as a patriotic act, etc.

What’s scary is it’s not hard to see the GOP winning back the Senate in 2022, and possibly the House. Then if they win the White House in 2024 it may be all over. They will try to take measures to make sure they never lose again. They are already willing to deny electoral results. They are moving to suppress votes. By 2028 they may have all the apparatus in place to manipulate the results the way they want. This is the party that thinks being in power is more important than maintaining demcracy.

Since QAnon isn’t really an organization and doesn’t really have a leader, they can both put forward insane conspiracy theories and disclaim those theories at the same time. Whoever wants to believe they’re real can do so and the ones who don’t can live in denial.
Just like you have some people who say Jan. 6 was a false flag operation run by ANTIFA while others are proudly admitting their participation and saying it was all Trump supporters.
