If you could do it all again

So today, as the dental hygienist was stabbing my gums to death with pointy sticks, I decided that if I could do it all over again and pick a brand new occupation, I would want to be either a dental researcher, a marine biologist, or a fireman.

If you could start all over, what (real, down to earth) job would you shoot for?

It’s odd you use the phrase ‘down to earth’ because my secret special career would be Astronaut.

Marine biologist?

“The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to return soup at a deli.”

I was almost this. :(

Don’t make me regret my choice in career shifts. Another 3 months and I might really start crying.

I was going to be a marine biologist, then someone went and caught a giant squid on film. Ruined my dreams…

Now I’m a “sales engineer”. meh.

My dream job used to be designing prosthetic limbs. I still think it’d be pretty cool. Being an endocrinologist would be neat as well.

Now, I’m a nanny and an occassional student, studying transgenderism. I’m way far off.

Funny this topic just came up because I am doing it all over again for the 3rd time!

I became an ER doctor… then I did my MBA to try some private business stuff on the side… next week I am beginnng my third life by going back to a 5 year residency to become a radiologist – and my wife is 12 week pregnant!

But I think I found my perfect career – a Radiologist … Mon-Fri and I can spend a lot of time with my family/kids.

Dental researcher?

And a license plate that said DRTEETH, obviously.

Dental Fireman. If your teeth catch on fire, they can put it out.

Plumber or gardener. I’ll take either one.

Have you seen how much ass the pizza guy gets?

Well, if you eat pizza all day then you have to expect to put on some weight.

Probably a novelist. That might not sound down to earth, but I could actually do it, and may yet. I used to want to be a musician, but I tried that life for a while, and I don’t really like it at all.

Panty inspector.

I think in many cases the problem is the reality of having to pay bills vs pursuing the career of your dreams.

Paying bills is a lousy substitute for living out your dreams. It’s a shame that so many people get trapped in a career they hate/dislike because of the money it offers.

I wouldn’t do anything different except possibly apply myself more. I’m doing exactly what I want to do.

If I could redo everything, I probably would’ve become a cop instead of going to college. So I’ll pick that. Police officer. Now, granted, I’m a little too young to be replying to this thread, so never mind.
