Is that a USP? I hate that gun, it’s like a peashooter, you have to shoot terrorists about 50 times in the chest to kill them and multiple times in the head. …and in Counter-Strike.

Nope… Kel-Tec PF9.

What am I looking at in the baseball picture? I don’t get it.

A vicious 97mph curve ball?

I was a little confused, too. It looks like the batter got a piece of it and the ball ricochets off the dirt in the first base lane. Is it a curve? The angle is such I can’t see the ball after it leaves the pitchers hand.

It’s doubly odd because the catcher seems to be winding up to make a throw just as it ends. Maybe it’s a fake. I definitely see something bounce in the dirt, but the timing of the dust seems wrong for a wild pitch.

Clearly a swing and miss. It’s 87, not 97. I don’t think a 97mph curveball is even possible.

The game is currently replaying right now on TV coming up to the 9th. I will get to the bottom of this.

Whoops yeah, I miss-read the little speedometer in the middle.

Yeah, just a sick (87 mph) pitch.

What is it that appears to have hit the dirt? I’d say maybe it’s my imagination, but it’s an animated gif and it seems to appear each pass through the loop. Perhaps this is a flashback. :)

I don’t know if we’re looking at the same thing, but some dirt seems to be kicked up around the batter from his feet sliding while he swings.

The batter’s right foot kicks up some dust, that’s all I see in regards to the dirt.

Okay, so the 87mph is the big deal for the pitch? I didn’t even realize that’s how fast the ball was being pitched. Having never watched a televised baseball game in my life (or playing a baseball video game since the Atarii 2600) I never even noticed the MPH being displayed at the top of the gif.

Ever notice how some animated gifs seem to inspire a lot more conversation than others?

If only we knew the name of the mysterious poster of this vexing gif they could explain why it was posted.
