Maybe if B&N were unlocked people could vent there instead of spilling over into unrelated threads.

Alternatively, maybe folks could observe the rules of the forum and send me a PM if they have any questions, comments, or relevant gifs. I’ll leave this thread unlocked for any folks who would like to go out with a flourish, but otherwise the rule stands that discussions about bans are between me and the person whose account was closed.

Wow. Mr. Chick, I’m normally on your side when the ban-hammer swings, but I am totally confused about your use of it today. I guess I must have missed the trigger for it, I suppose the LK comment “enjoy your espresso” in that Hurt Locker thread started it.
I thought it was a fairly benign statement, I think he was trying to stay out of another huge battle dance with you.
I guess you’ll ban me now as well, but damn Tom, if you keep up this odd “live and let live until I get pissed and ban everyone” thing going you are going to ruin your own living room and no one will want to come to your house any more.

See that little part of the forum in the upper right hand side of the forum, Mr. Sam? You can send PMs using that. You can even send them to me. Alternatively, you can find my email address in the stickied rules post where it explains why people get banned, what their recourse is if they want to be unbanned, and how public discussions of bannings aren’t welcome. This forum has taken a variety of approaches to the issue, and none of them has worked. Believe me, I know, as does everyone whose account was closed today. It’s a huge pain in the ass all around.
So I’d be much obliged if you’d honor the way I’ve chosen to run the forum and send me a PM if you’d like to discuss it further or register your displeasure.
