Seriously. If you have a video of someone getting seriously and perhaps permanently injured, post it somewhere else.

Gotta love Bollywood

I want this to be Just Cause 3 so badly.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

It’s sort of a gentleman’s agreement, but yes, we do. That GIF was just awful.

Exactly, well said.

AMAZING! I too would love to see this in JC3.

For the age of the kid, yes - but, honestly, pets are great educators of young kids that the kid needs some empathy. At some point in time, you need to learn that the world doesn’t revolve around you.

I would post a gif of a parenting fail to follow my own policy of only speaking in animated gifs in this thread, but most parenting fails are them injuring their kids, so here’s a puppy running:

That my friends is fucking awesome.

I was thinking older sibling. The camera follows him down to the floor as if to say BWAHAHAHA. That’s totally from the older brother playbook.

What about gifs that look like they should be painful, but apparently aren’t?

Such grace.

I’m not really advocating for gifs of potentially harmful injuries but I seriously doubt that kid was paralyzed or anything like that from that fall. He’s only about 3 feet from the edge of the table base when he falls towards it. He’s young and it seems to hit him at an oblique angle, there’s plenty of muscle and fat and other cushioning between his spine and the table base. He likely isn’t moving because he’s embarrassed as fuck and doesn’t know what to do. A shot to the spine doesn’t make you ragdoll or fall unconscious, he’s be moving his upper limbs if he was in serious distress.

Anyway it doesn’t involve his nuts so I say nay.

More likely, he’s not moving because though he’s probably not paralysed he’s in a world of hurt. He just landed his full body weight on that table foot. He’s likely letting out a cry of OHFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

How about this for a rule of thumb: Before posting, ask yourself, “Will this make Jerri go ‘AY YI YI YI’ or squirm uncomfortably, as though the spinal injury is happening TO HER rather than to a stranger in a gif?”

It’s time we think of MY needs, people.

OOH! And we can get the medical types here to weigh in on each video that does get posted. “Nope, probably not paralyzed.” “Yeah, that’s gonna leave a mark.”

Good job cat, bad job camera man or woman for being a stupid dick.

I usually don’t care about GIFs where people get injured, but watching that guy land on his back like that… it literally made me cringe.

So the Theismann leg break looped over and over is a bad idea?

Wait. So after asking ourselves this question, do we post the gif if the answer is ‘yes’ or if the answer is ‘no’?

Having seen a serious wrestling or football injury or two I can say that is definitely not true in general. The worst injuries I’ve seen left people just lying there motionless waiting for a stretcher. One kid broke his neck wrestling, and he lay on the mat exactly like that. Well, minus the table. ;-)

We in the Pedantic Pedantry Corps are happy to oblige! Well, except I’m just a random internets guy, and not a paramedical or anything. But hey, it’s the internet so taste my amateur opinion!

No no, that’s alright. Knee injuries are where I draw the line. ;-)

I had a buddy who’d somehow lost all the ligaments in one of his knees. He could stand on the other leg and swing it sideways like a pendulum. Terrifying.

That could have been nanny camera footage, right?

Both of my knees are messed up to some degree. There are days when two canes are mandatory. That description reminds me that it’s Friday. Time for a few drinks.
