Oh for fuck’s sake, I hotlinked those images straight out of a DailyMail featurette on Neve Campbell. I hardly think that browsing DailyMail is NSFW, and as stated the images are pixelated. But it’s good to know we have you as a moral compass on the forum to decide what’s appropriate or not appropriate to post.
At every place I’ve ever worked, hitting that page would be a potential firing offense if the web content filters caught it or a coworker reported it. At the very least, it would have led to a long discussion about sexual harassment with an HR rep and my supervisor.
I’m sure you have a hundred different justifications for your incessant bleating, but they all add up to you trying to make others change their behavior to fit your puritanical worldview.
Apparently we need a <porn> tag?
If you actually knew anything about me, you’d never be able to use the word puritanical with a straight face. There are times and places for everything, though, and I’ll gladly bleat incessantly when a gaming forum that has almost always been work and family safe for more than ten years starts to become something else.
Is it so difficult to grasp that titty pictures are NSFW, and that somebody pointing this out doesn’t mean they have a problem with it per se, but rather that they work at a place that does and would prefer to be able to browse from work?
And yes, large swathes of the American workplace are indeed stodgy enough that the UK’s Dailymail counts as NSFW. This should come as a surprise to nobody.
Yeah, I’m with the anti-NSFW crowd. I access the site from work and never open certain threads because of this, but I’d rather not have to.

He’s obviously hoping that the chin fur will rub off on him.
Yes, yes. You’re a perfectly reasonable person, in your own home, late at night, with the lights off. You’re not waging a crusade against words because of your own hangups; you’re doing it for the children.
You owe me 10 minutes of searching threads in the Movie Subforum I am never going to get back.
I looked it up too!
Guys, NSFW is obviously a legitimate concern, and it would be a shame for this gifs thread to become NSFW.
Why not start a NSFW gifs thread? That way everyone’s happy.
Wrong yet again, Bob. I’m doing it for me, and I’ve never claimed otherwise. I’ve enjoyed being able to browse QT3 during downtimes at more than one job without the fear that HR or female office mates would come down hard on me because I clicked on a seemingly innocuous thread. I want that to continue.
Except for that post I was responding to, the one I quoted, where you said you were doing it for your family.
Here’s the post you quoted:
I said the forum has been work and family safe. I never mentioned anything about MY family. I don’t even have kids.
I think we both know who we were both referring to. In any case, if you are absolutely incapable of preventing yourself from backseat moralizing, at least make your complaints directly. If you saw pixelated boobies in the pool thread and were scarred for life or fired, the least you can do is complain in that thread. Don’t wring your hands until you passive aggressively derail an unrelated and awesome thread. And now let’s get things back on track.

I like showing some of these gifs to my family, too, and posts like this last one screw that up pretty badly.
Bob, I was refering to me. The work and family safe comment was a descriptor of how the forum has been and hopefully will be again somewhere down the road. YOU are refering to my wife, but she’s completely irrelevant to this discussion. She hasn’t even lurked here in what, seven years? But you refuse to let what happened then go. Your ability to hold petty grudges would surprise me if I hadn’t seen it demonstrated repeatedly.
As for thread derailment, I was neither fired nor scarred. I see far worse routinely on forums where it’s appropriate for such pics to be posted–and sometimes I deliberately seek them out. I said nothing in the movies thread because I knew it wouldn’t stop more posts like it because we no longer have moderation for anything but spam. I brought it up here as proof that things had changed. Here’s the exact quote. There’s no moralizing at all (that came later, after Cubit’s crack about my wife, and he’s another one for grudge holding). It’s simply a comment on the differences between then and now:
Reading comprehension is not your strength. You see everything through your filter of hate.

Too late!
Bob, what do you think are the worst things about Mass Effect?
