In reality it was a constant oppressive regime where using the wrong word would get you banned. It was especially heinous for a professional writer to declare certain words off limits based on the rantings of the wife of a single poster. See the Lowe’s/Muslim thread in P&R for a more recent example of this type of misguided pandering to minority extremists. Regardless, that had nothing to do with my permaban, which was based on my misguided attempt to treat Tom as a rational person. At least he’s gone now.

Is it so difficult to grasp that titty pictures are NSFW, and that somebody pointing this out doesn’t mean they have a problem with it per se, but rather that they work at a place that does and would prefer to be able to browse from work?

What I don’t get is why the folks here seem to want the tit pics so much. That’s exactly what it was, and exactly what you did. I never popped up in your conversations about other things with other people to make gratuitous comments about what happened then, but you did. I was (and am) willing to let the past stay in the past if you’ll do the same even though I like you no better than you do me. My bet is you won’t let things die, though–why should this year be different from the last however many, or any other thread be different from this one? When you revisit the past, I’ll respond, but I promise I won’t initiate things. How about you do the same, and then this can end permanently?

Sure, all you did was protest on your wife’s behalf about the word “cunt” appearing over your shoulder when she checked up on your leisure activities to ensure you weren’t engaged in anything prurient, then you washed your hands of it. The rest of us dealt with the fallout from that action for years until only recently when Tom made the wise decision to GTFO. Your inability to feel remorse for the damage you caused likely stems from the same defect that initially seeded your persecution complex. How about this counteroffer: I’ll stop calling you a jerk who demands the acquiescence of others to his idiot beliefs when you stop acting as one.

My wife doesn’t “check up” on any of my activities, leisure or otherwise. Our trust in each other is complete.
