I don’t think that’s a person. It’s a dummy of some kind. Perhaps it’s just a demonstration, but when they zoom in on the hand, the fingers are stuck together.

Perhaps people already realized this, but the gif doesn’t make it clear.

You’re absolutely right. It looks so weird though at the beginning there and he looks stiff and motionless and his hand looks like molded plastic. I guess just the crappy resolution is to blame for his hand looking funny.

Reminds me of the Anvil Toss I saw at a blacksmithing convention, where they half bury one anvil upside down in the ground, set another one on top of it, and put gunpowder inbetween them. Crazy stuff.
