Yeah. Political cartoons had their day. Labels on things so you just had to get the point. But that day isn’t today. Maybe for ancients that still read newspapers…
Did some digging and it seems to be referencing this fight:
I’m assuming that’s what the cartoon books are for.
So what I am seeing is that Cheney is reGodwinning AOC’s Godwin.

There’s no way that any reasonable person could have thought that drawing was AOC. I am appalled.
Nazis didn’t invent concentration camps; they date at least to the Boer War if you don’t count POW camps like Andersonville. The Holocaust doesn’t have a monopoly on the term and I find the faux outrage pretty objectionable. At best. At worst it’s a grotesque fig leaf designed to define atrocity downward.
I thought I was done arguing with people on the internet but I’ve definitely been engaging a “I’m not conservative, I’m a totally reasonable toady to fascists – liberal really when you think about – and let me tell you how Chuck Todd owned AOC,” dickhead on Facebook with this argument specifically:
The red flags at the border are obvious to those of us raised with “never again,” a phrase Ocasio-Cortez invoked: dehumanizing language, children in cages, families separated, the deaths of trans asylum seekers, rampant diseases, and subhuman living conditions. “Never again” means we must work to deescalate before atrocities rise to the horrors of Auschwitz.
I’ve been going down the rabbit hole on the border issue a bit this week in thanks to AOC raising the issue back up to our immediate attention where it should have been all along. One troubling thing that someone pointed out is the increasing use of military facilities serving as concentration camps. Troubling, in particular, because they can refuse any sort of oversight or third party observation. They can refuse groups offering legal council and congress people and reporters seeking to check in on conditions first hand. Given the bullshit that’s going on in the camps that are semi-open to the public (one legal volunteer says that the horrors that make the news are like 2% of the horrors she sees on a daily basis) it’s really fucking disturbing to think what will be going on when they can cloak themselves under the guise of security.
Yup. Moreover, setting aside the body count that accumulates along the way, one needs Sophie Scholl levels of heroism to resist a full-blown fascist regime, which almost none of us possess, and anyway Sophie Scholl and her buddies’ actions, while indescribably noble, did essentially nothing to actually stop Hitler (by then, of course, that was mostly the job of Russian/American/English/Canadian/etc. soldiers).

Hey, one more thing I can use to run in my families face.
That first reply is amazing, in the now I feel sick way. A litany of the worst criminal abuses by ICE.
Just because you keep hearing this horseshit about ‘Obama’s child separation policy’, and DJT’s relentless lying about it:

that was an eye opening account of what any of us could encounter crossing back into the US.
The ability for them to basically detain you for no other reason than your non-compliance to provide passwords or answer any question they come up with is counter to any other law we have here. They have way too much power with no oversight & very little to combat it with.
The conditions that detained children are being subjected to, described in this story, are horrific. This is seriously fucked up. All because God forbid the kids get to go stay with relatives:
