Jefferson’s plan was to kill soldiers, Marx’s plan was to kill civilians. Do you see the difference? And If we are going to talk about “create a regime”, I’d say Marx’s contribution to the USSR, Cambodia, and current China puts him far past Jefferson on the body count rankings.
Tell it to the Cherokee, man. Tell it to the slaves. I’m sure they’ll see the difference.

Defend Marx to the Ukrainians, Cambodians, Czechs, Germans, Latvians, Lithuanians, Poles, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cubans, etc.
I think you’re missing the point that Marx never created any regime, while Jefferson surely did.

You’re right! Marx and Jefferson are only separated by the magnitude of their body count. I am frankly astonished anyone in this thread would defend Jefferson! That monster!
Now we are going to get some nonsense about how Marx ‘inspired’ all that violence, and then we can talk about Jesus.

Well, I can’t find data on them all, but the Poles seem to like him. Right here waiting charted there too. I mean just 89 so they don’t love him, but I doubt he needs much defending.

Yes Jefferson was actually successful, Marx wasn’t. Odd that’s used against Jefferson considering we see the fruits of both their labors. One system remains, the other doesn’t.
He actively called for violent action! I’m kinda shocked that’s in dispute.

This thread really does need a come to Jesus moment.

Wait, what wasn’t Marx successful at here?
Thrag

Which revolution did he attempt to lead again?
News flash: Marx entirely blameless, says critic.
RayRayK

He attempted to influence the 1848 revolutions, but failed. Failure is a common occurrence in Marx’s life.
He failed to influence the revolution?
Yes, we’ve come around to declaring Marx impotent and, therefore, innocent.
Thrag
4538
So he’s to blame not for his failures, but for the successes of others?

The 1848 one, yeah the communist manifesto and the articles/letters he wrote, didn’t take a leading position the way he wanted.
He was a failure in his own life, his theories and philosophy, which Scott you are very big to focus on, gained a lot of traction subsequent to the 1848 revolution, which is what lead to tens of millions of innocent deaths.
