After reading Troy’s blog about a fancy internet-ified Cold War board game he and Bruce Geryk are playing I figured I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I’ve had a look and the game looks very pretty and seems like a lot of fun. But I need someone to play with. It’s a two-player game so I figure I should be able to find at least one opponent here.
The game can be played for free through the VASSAL engine.
The game file can be downloaded here and the rules are available for free on the designer’s homepage here
Oh come on people. Surely there has to be some interest. Twilight Struggle is ranked as the 6th best game on Boardgamegeek and the internet-ified version looks like an amazingly faithful adaption.
I thought Troy could sell the game but here is the game’s page on Boardgamegeek if anyone is still hesitating.
I did a quick read of the manaul…it does look very interesting…sadly crush time at work with big impact project nearing finish line. I would definetly be interested in playing in around 2 weeks. Send me a private message if up for it. :) We can work it out…
Kalle, I’d love to play, but I can’t for a while. I’m swamped with spring cleaning and trying to get our house organized. Come July I’ll be stuck inside for the rest of the summer though…(can’t breathe outdoors in sticky hot weather).
I’ve been considering purchasing this game, so previewing it online would be great.
Next weekend would be 10x better than this weekend for me (my wife works every other weekend - those are my heavy duty gaming weekends), but if that doesn’t work for you, I can try to play this weekend. Feel free to send me a pm. Also feel free to play with someone else this weekend if somebody else comes along.
Ya’ll should check out some of GMT’s earlier titles, some of which the more famous ones are card-based (Wilderness War, Paths of Glory, For the People, etc.)
