KOTOR dropped to $4.99! That’s fast.

Don’t play Deus Ex:The Fall if you have a jail broken device.

I don’t have any Apple stuff, just dropped in for the ride. Anyone got any popcorn.gif?

Trauma is on sale

Sentinels of the Multiverse is headed for iOS (and Android) according to BGG:

That is great news!

For the uninformed, what kind of game is sentinels of the multiverse? It looks kind of like a card game.

It is a cooperative card game:

We have doing a play by forum of sentinels right here:

How hard is it to learn the rules?

I have been watching this game for awhile and wondering how hard would it be for an eleven year old boy to learn?

The rules are very simple. The card interactions are what can get complex, but I’ve seen a fair number of people on Google Plus talking about playing with their kids so I expect by 11 he should be fine.

Yeah, I would agree. Especially since it’s cooperative, if he plays with an adult, that can help him understand some of the trickier card effects and strategies. The rulebook tells you which heroes are easier to play as well, so that helps. I thinkit’d be perfect. My 12-year-old happily plays with us.

Thanks for the input, my nephew likes games so I think this will be my next purchase.

I finished Swordigo last night while on vacation. The nicest thing I can say about it is that I beat it while sitting next to my vita and 3ds. It’s an old school (in an NES hard sort of way) platformer/adventure game that was well worth the couple of dollars.

Frozen Synapse for iOS just dropped to $2.99 in the app store, down from $6.99. So, if you were on the fence: get off the fence!

Man…EA “sunset” another iOS game after it only being out under a year. WordSmack is now shitcanned this September. They shitcanned their TMI quiz game this year too.

Does it really cost that much to keep a game running on a server? Anyway, a good reason to think twice about EA online games.

Ok, so I’m cautiously coming to the conclusion that Solstice: Arena might actually be pretty good.

This is basically a miniature League of Legends. The 10 minute game length is ideal, especially since I permanently gave up on LoL after a game dragged on for 90 minutes. The tiny map, lack of minions, and rapid power curve all but guarantee that victory won’t take long one way or another.

Of course, there’s an obvious obstacle to acceptance: this game is published by Zynga (although not developed in-house). It’s F2P with elements of IAP, but as far as I can tell the IAP is mainly cosmetic. The only items giving gameplay advantage (potions) are consumable, but rotating free potions are always available and the price for the rest is sustainable (i.e. less than one game’s typical winnings).

Like LoL, you can play rotating free champions or save up points to unlock your favorite permanently. Apart from MP there is an AI you can grind and even a comp-stomp co-op mode.

So, what’s not to like? I don’t know, I keep thinking I’ll find a fatal flaw but for now it’s a lot of fun.

As of yesterday, Shifts (iOS iPad) is currently free.
