Magic is a consumable. Purchased with IAP currency.
Game is gated by well… gates that cost tens of thousands of in game currency, or spam your facebook friends, or use IAP currency to open.
I played for awhile, then decided to just replay S&P2.
Anybody biting on Blood Bowl?
I picked it up, not sure if I’m ready to splurge on all other teams yet though.
Same here. The energy system is not the problem, it’s that all magic is now essentially IAP, and you need the magic or a lot of luck to pass some bosses. I played it a while then all desire to play it anymore faded. Fail.

I highly recommend a free game called A Dark Room. Text game like Cookie Clicker in a way but much better. I don’t really want to spoil it but give it a try!
Thirded! Been spending some time with this and I’m really impressed. I’ve been playing the PC version but did try the iOS version briefly.
A word of warning though: AppStore contains two a dark room. Both are free. One is called “A Dark Room” and seems to be the original. the other is called “A Dark Room - Free” and seems to be a clone as it contains numerous links to other other clones by the same dev. Not sure if that version works as I deleted it before trying. What I assume is the original version is very similar to the PC version with some subtle changes (dimming the screen, more flavor text, different in game numbers).

Manhattan Project was released for Google Play, and is also under review at Apple according to Pocket Tactics:

Surprised that no one has mentioned that Bioshock is coming to iOS.
I have enough trouble with isometric realtime on touch screen, actual shooters are a definite no go.
WHY CAN’T I MOVE?!
Oh, because my thumb slid off the virtual joystick.
Yeah, no shooters for iOS for me. Besides, if you haven’t played Bioshock through several times by now, there’s something seriously wrong with you.
Darn, I finished “A Dark Room” so fast. :( It was fun while it lasted.
Manhattan Project? Eww. I think I hate that game. I’ve only played it, I think, three times, but it really didn’t work for me. That said, I’m a sucker for a good boardgame port.
Awesome.

Did we already talk about 80 Days? I don’t know if the gameplay is going to hold up yet (just made it to Berlin, I think), but boy these guys are stupendous writers. In fact, I’m going to say it: inkle gives Failbetter a run for their pound sterling!

I know im late to the party but hoplite is fantastic. Same addictive qualities as dream quest.
Well, Nick Diamon did on the front page.
I’m not sure there’s much to say other than that it seems like a hilariously misguided move.

I never played Manhattan Project either - an iOS port could be a cheap way to try it out (depending on the price - or I can always wait for a sale).
The port I am really looking forward to is Sentinels!
In old new news, Star Realms app was denied approval for the third time yesterday. The only time I wish I had an android method to play the game until this ios version gets approved some century.
