I’ve been playing the heck out of Lords of Waterdeep single player for the last week or so. It’s great. I don’t regret paying full price for the expansions, but it’s clearly worth looking at now to see if you like the base game enough to buy them while they’re still cheap. I think both are definitely worth getting, though unlike some I seem to be OK playing the base game alone.
I have a bunch o’ cash in my itunes account thanks to a gift card. Thinking about LoW now that its on sale. How does it play on an iPhone? That’s all I have. I’m wondering because I tried the free version of Star Realms and couldn’t read much. Thankfully didn’t buy that. I only have a phone.

I couldn’t imagine playing it on a phone. I’ve only played on an iPad and it still has a bunch of scrolling around.
Yeah, this is definitely an iPad game.
Thanks guys. I’ll avoid for now.
Thanks, now I’m tempted. I’m playing Small World 2 right now, and it kind of sucks in single player.
Honestly, I just don’t like Small Word, single player or multiplayer. Tactically it rather bites. It’s a territorial game where it’s usually impossible to defend territory. The real decisions are in what race combo to take, the actual turns are almost perfunctory. It’s not totally impossible, since there are a few combos which allow for a wall (i.e. Hobbit Holes), but usually not.
I find that at least the base game plays perfectly fine on a 5S screen.

I have Lords of Waterdeep (and just bought the expansions on sale) but for some reason I have a hard time keeping track of everyone’s moves on the iPad. I seem to be able to know what is going on better in the physical game.
I will have to give it another try.

I just bought LOW after seeing that sale and I really liked it after a game or two. Are the expansions worth purchasing or are they just added quests and stuff? Is the base game enough?
They’re worth it. I said a few things about them in the bargain thread.
my first race in Motorsport Manager for ios
also got my website half updated, www.harkonis.com since I sometimes am on twitch and sometimes hitbox

Echo Prime is only $0.99 now. I bought and it’s a nice little sci fi ARPG lite. You carry a melee weapon and a blaster and can upgrade both of those along with your body armor and helmet. In addition, you collect “Echoes” which seem to be some sort of alien spirits which give you various powers - passive boosts to damage, criticals, etc, or various types of healing, or active abilities like targeting multiple opponents at once. Think of them as another name for skills. You collect them by completing missions and can upgrade them through use. Nothing really all that deep, but I found it surprisingly fun.
streaming echo prime right now, pretty simple and fun. gonna also check out Star Wars Commander soon

Yep been waiting on this one, so far it’s really good. Simple to play but with enough to do and I like the fact you can speed it up when it’s slow going. My son aged 7 loves it. Greta if you are a fan of car racing and any sort of management.
Star Wars Commander is just Cash of Clans reskinned. I deleted it once the tutorial was over. I did pick the Imperials, and Darth Vader needed my help to deal with some pesky Tusken Raiders. I’m guessing it has more of a campaign mode than CoC.

Sid Meier’s Pirates! is on sale for $0.99, great price for a fun game!
Hitman Go is on sale this weekend, either two or three bucks. I grabbed it this morning and its a fun puzzler with a unique boardgame aesthetic. Well worth the sale price and it helped make a two hour plane flight I had today seem like five minutes.
Yeah, I grabbed it too, and it is pretty spiffy. It’s simpler and “puzzlier” than I expected, but I keep coming back to it. I do enjoy when an IP holder lets some devs take a property down little unexpected side roads.
I finally got around to playing 1,000,000, which I picked up for free a while back. I have to say the experience was pretty similar to being punched in the balls repeatedly. It’s real time on a too-fast timer, where making any kind of decision takes a decided back seat to matching stuff as fast as you can. It doesn’t help that the “items” often are inexplicable. What does that irregular blob do? I tap it and nothing discernable happens.
Deleted.
