Now that I’ve had a chance to play I realize what this is. It’s basically a RPG version ofFLOW. I’ve done hundreds of levels in the free version of that game over the years. Though the idea of making chains does make it more complex. I’m liking it so far, but I find the combine/evolve/enhance mechanics here a little confusing.
I went ahead and started a thread. Thanks for the Flow reference.
Got a little game for $3 called Lifeline, and so far it’s simple but enjoyable. In one sense, it’s just a standard choose-your-own-adventure story. But the way it is cast is that the main character has crashed on a distant planet and you (through your phone) are the only one who can receive his transmissions. He sends you series of short (almost twitter-short) messages and then will ask for your advice on what to do next. Often you end up waiting in real-time for him to execute the action you suggested, and then he’ll send you a notification when something new happens. So if you send him trudging off across the planet to do something, expect to wait and hour or three for the next piece of the story.
The plot seems roughly similar to the novel The Martian, but on a distant world that may have some remains of intelligent life on it. The writer is touted as the writer of “Fables: The Wolf Among Us.” After some investigation, it is now clear to me that he’s not the guy who created the Fables comics and he’s not a writer for Telltale. He wrote an official digital comic adaptation of the videogame The Wolf Among Us. So, he only really has a pedigree by association, but so far I think the writing is pretty good.

“Does Not Commute” just came out. It’s a top-down driving game with a series of very short missions across a map. The trick is that once a car reaches its goal, whatever route you took will replay during all of the following missions and interfere with subsequent routes.
It’s really well done. I particularly like the amusing vignettes that introduce each mission. The narratives collide with each other as often as the vehicles.
Free to download, I’m not sure yet about how the IAP and difficulty interact.
Magnet, the game is fully playable, but there are no checkpoints without the IAP, which seems like a fair system to me. This one looks great. I’ve seen some video but haven’t played yet. Spending way too much time with Dungeon Link

Downloaded Coup and it seems pretty interesting. I’m having trouble figuring out the bluffing though. What possible reason could you have to think another player is bluffing?

Could I enjoy Sorcery 3 without playing the first two?

Really enjoyed Lifeline (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lifeline.../id982354972?mt=8) - you’re the only contact for someone who has crashed on a distant moon, and he relies on you to guide him in his attempts to survive.

Why not play the first two though? The original books were a quartet meant to be played from start to finish. Sorcery! was definitely one of my favorite gamebook collections growing up.
I enjoyed this too. Pretty simple game, not very replayable (unless I missed the multiple endings, but it doesn’t seem like I did), but the writing was effective with a good voice to it and the realtime quality–it takes time for him to do things like travel or try to solve a problem and the game gives you notifications when he has something new to report–was surprisingly effective.
I never played a game book and it seems that the third has hit the sweet spot (according to the review on Pocket Tactics). I thought if I was going to try one I may want to sample the version with the best presentation ( not that the first two were said to be bad in anyway).

To anyone looking for a tabletop RPG like game, I highly recommend Galactic Keep, which was released yesterday. It’s unique, interesting and fun.
I picked this up, and though I’ve only tried a bit of it so far (tutorial and a bit of the first mission), it’s slick and seems very well put together.

Demon’s Rise is out today and is an excellent TB dungeon crawler, sort of like a fantasy XCom, at least tactically speaking.
