Not a board game, but have you played Plague Inc?

Haha yea, but since I’m in the hospital with several infections I’m not quite in the mood for spreading plagues lololol.

So many options!
Sentinels of the Multiverse is pretty immersive and has a ton of content.
If you’re looking for a free app, I’ll suggest Ortus Regni. It really is free, there are no ads, no IAPs, and no expansions available or planned. And the game play is unique, it’s as tightly wound as a stripped down euro but dressed up to look like a CCG.

Thanks for the jumpstart all. Just what I needed. Question - besides Twilight Struggle, wasn’t there another space type game people really liked? Galaxy something?
I’d recommend Suburbia. I’ve gotten back into playing that asynch over the last couple weeks and I really enjoy it.

Yes, Race for the Galaxy.

Ahhhh had Galaxy on the wrong end. Thanks!
Race for the Galaxy is super fast paced (games last for 15 minutes?) so I don’t know about immersion, but the AI is a really cool opponent. It also has quite a steep learning curve (the tutorial is serviceable, but I always deplored there wasn’t an in-game card library to peruse).
There is Eclipse which was supposed to be a Space Opera thing, but I think that one had AI issues if I recall… But it seems to be gone from the store?
Sentinels of the Multiverse is meant for single player (although there is online multiplayer support) has ton of contents, and while it’s good as a strategy game, it becomes incredible if you get invested into its lore (I dislike comics, but I thoroughly enjoyed the lore of that game). It’s also quite expensive: 50 bucks for the two season packs (the base game features only a fraction of the overall available content).
Edit: I should add that is has no in-game goal worth speaking of, so the only challenge is the one you build for yourself. It’s the KSP of board games!
Pathfinder Adventures is very absorbing and a nifty dice and card games and is single player. Even though I have had my issues with it (I ran repeatedly into glitches), it is a crazy addicting game.
Oh yeah. “Space Trucker” is actually “Galaxy Truckers”. Silly me.

Hahah thanks, I was just on that one now going, “why isn’t it pulling up Space Truck…?”

I’m guessing the pathfinder stuff there is the same universe as the new game on Steam?
@Left_Empty I can’t really tell. How much is pathfinder going to cost me if I get really vested in it?
The thing is tricky, as if I recall, the base game is free and you used to be able to unlock stuff by grinding for ever, but not anymore after Asmodee bought the game recently.
I think (if I am not mistaken), that the 15$ bundle gets you all the base adventures and characters, which is an incredible value (it amounts to 80% of the content or something, if somebody else can vouch in?).
There is a goblin expansion, with a few adventures, and a couple of single shot adventures beyond that. But the 15$ base game should get you covered pretty well. You’ll need to decide if that is your sort of game, and I hope the free part of the game give you a good feeling about what it is and what it isn’t.
It is the same universe as the recent RPG I think (the girl in the banner of the game on Steam is one of the characters you can play with), although the board game is all about looting cards and rolling dice, with a little bit of character development thrown-in.
Speaking of KSP reminded me of a… well, toy, more than a game: Space Simulator.
The game probably doesn’t pass extended inspection (I never ran a full mission with it), but it is a very atmospheric toy for a space newbie such as myself.

Yes, Pathfinder ACG and the recently released Kingmaker are both adapting campaigns from Pathfinder tabletop, just in different ways. The ACG set that was adapted for the electronic version is Rise of the Runelords (though there are currently three other, better sets in the physical version), and Kingmaker is, go figure, Kingmaker. And every official Pathfinder product is set in their campaign setting of Golarion as far as I know.

There is an ios version of battlecon?

Probably because there’s an official online platform for it that just launched. On Steam, that is. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d like to bring it to mobile but AFAIK that’s not happening just yet.

Probably lost it in the great 32-bit purge.
Apple promoted this on my country’s store today
It is f2p, with timers locking out progress and probably money later on, but I enjoyed my first half-hour with it and thus am readying myself to be disappointed!
I have spent over a couple of hours on it now, and if you are into civilian flight, this is addicting as hell. Multiple new mechanics are unlocked over the process of unlocking new planes. The game is a little devil is that as you complete “routes”, you color the map with lines connecting various airports. I can even think of it as a twist on @BrianRubin’s darling LOGistICal, excepting that instead of the puzzle aspect, we get a quite robust flying mini-games thrown in.
To keep us on our toes, about 80% of the planes in the game experience engine failures, which doesn’t give a very good image of the safety of the metal birds ;)
So far, no IAP was required: only patience (I put the game to rest when I face a timer to the next examination, which is fine with my gaming pace).
