Yeah, those videos have shifted me from interested to ravenous. Thus I thought I would share my impatience on the off chance somebody knew something juicy. I guess I will keep watching the videos and stare nostalgically at the box game + expansions in my game closet.

I was hooked on this a while back, but after a while it became really monotonous. Just a handful of “events” then it was play a match, get points, buy energy drinks and shoes, buy whatever house or plane, play match, wash and rinse. Have there been any updates in the last year?
Small World is $2.99. I think I’ll finally grab it.

Ooh. I’ve been waiting for that for a while. Thanks.
By twitter and Facebook, Warhammer Quest is to be released next week (may 30th for $4.99). I didn’t find too much information on price or content, but there will be day one DLC packs sold (could be in groups or individually) that add some hero class choices and Skaven based map/creatures/campaign dealy. I think the heroes will be one bundle and the Skaven stuff will be another.

Wait, weren’t they were working on a big new version that would replace this with a bunch of improvements? Would it be better to wait for that?
I thought the improvements would go to the existing app. They did announce that they had added Retina support a little while ago.
I purchased Small World, and while it’s very pretty and slickly done, I don’t care for it. It’s still 2 player only, but the real issue is that despite the simple rules, I just don’t seem to grok it. The bot beats me every time, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Here’s something unusual… a Sim-city ish stragegy game called Run That Town … developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Includes Game Center support!
It actually looks sort of interesting.
(thanks NeoGAF!).
Expanding the number of players supported is one of the incoming improvements, as is (IIRC) async online play.
Not unless you would rather pay 10 bucks when the update is released vs 3 now.

Thanks for the clarification. I hadn’t realized it would be an update to the existing app. Grabbed it.
Fantasy Flight Games released an update today for Elder Sign: Omens for all three platforms:
- Free Ancient One! (Hastur)
- The Dark Pharaoh campaign (in-app purchase)
- Reorganized Main Menu
- Bug fixes & optimizations
What’s the best part? Here’s what’s included in The Dark Pharaoh campaign for $2.99:
- New Ancient One [naturally]
- Over 65 New Adventures [that’s a lot!]
- Lingering Effects and Allies [Allies, finally!]
- 8 New Monsters [always welcome!]
- 4 New Investigators [gimme, gimme!]
- Unlockable Bonus Investigator [make me earn it, love it!]
Allies!!! Woo hoo!!!
Saw this over at NeoGAF: a gameplay trailer for Agricola. Looks good!
Why the hell do developers insist on animating things that don’t need it? The movement of the green arrow on the right is really obnoxious.

I don’t know the game, but that looks like an indicator that the seasons are changing or something?
I don’t know, but sometimes animations like that really make me feel like I’m about to have a seizure or something (I’m not epileptic, nor do I mean to make light of the condition).
Another recent one was the spinning hourglass icon in the iOS adaptation of Las Vegas by Ravensburger.

I played Elder Signs iOS quite a bit when it first came out. But I’ve never played the board game. What are allies?
Allies, in Arkham Horror, were typically multiple point skill boosts that also had secondary benefits like bringing items with them or making you immune to certain monster abilities, and were really powerful and typically hard to come by. I’m not sure they existed in baseline Elder Sign so I don’t know how they translated them to the dicegame format. Should be interesting to see.
Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright Trilogy HD is out now. First two episodes are free, and each episode of the trilogy is 5.99 or 6.99. It’s 16.99 for all 3, so save 3 bux by buying them all at once.
Anyone give it a shot? I’m starting to be really sad that many of the newer games don’t run on the original iPad. Looks like I’m gonna have to upgrade soon.
