I haven’t had any problems to be honest. Well, besides the size of the interface for my fat sausage fingers.
Does your info transfer from old, PC accounts?

There is an option to login with an existing account, but I didn’t try it so I don’t know what transfers.

I logged in w/ my old account. There I was, with my raggy clothes and my old pet rat Scabbers. I also had badges with a few days left on them. So that was a pleasant surprise. Those are years old, but only tick down on days you log in.
This does not appear to be a port, but rather an iOS-native full-fledged gateway into the game.

I believe next Thursday is Duels of the Plainswalkers 2014 (the Magic CCG adapatation for iOS). There is a pretty awesome-looking new Sealed Deck Campaign for those looking for a more open-ended deckbuilding experience than the series has offered in the past. Not entirely sure how constrained that is, but I have seen gameplay videos that seem to indicate you get to build limited decks from opened boosters.
That’s because customizing colours was DLC on other platforms - the so-called “Elite Soldier Pack”. It came free as a preorder bonus but costs about $8 on Steam now.

Be been picking up the cards in the stores for years. Now you get an additional one per week via the app. It’s quick and easy. If you don’t like the app (they’re not all games) just delete and via the miracle of iTunes accounts its there forever if you want it.

Wait - this is not a port of the original XCom, but rather the recent remake??

Yes this is a port of Enemy Unknown, the recent remake.

On a snarky-level it’s really very straightforward. Someone (say for example you) needs to take advantage of that big button in the top-left corner of the webpage labelled “+Post New Thread”. Then XCOM iOS will have its own thread. Don’t complain about it, do something about it if you really think XCOM iOS should have it’s own thread.
On a non-snarky-level, I created the Warhammer iOS thread because I’d never heard of the game and it sounded like great fun (which it was). I figured others would want to hear about it and maybe discuss it – 249 posts in the Warhammer Quest thread suggests it was a reasonable decision. At this point, I think we’ve all heard of XCOM and in fact most of us have played it. I really enjoyed it and played for many hours although I didn’t finish it (because I’ve got the globe covered with Satellites and that seems to just leave large-UFO-cleanup-mission after large-UFO-cleanup-mission to do, which I find the least enjoyable type of mission). But while the new XCOM is a great game, it’s already been discussed pretty heavily (according to the bboard I myself have got 66 posts in the PC/XBox XCOM thread).
On a meta level, my preference is that any time there’s going to be more than say a dozen or so posts on a game, I’d just as soon it gets its own thread instead of them all going into the general iOS thread. So if you think there’s going to be a dozen or two dozen posts discussing iOS XCOM, please create a new thread! Although iOS XCOM posts could probably go into the general XCOM thread instead of a new thread.

Any of those track sales on IAP too?
I think its been mentioned earlier in this thread but Aliens vs Humans is a good remake of the original that just got an update a week or so ago. And its priced at about 2 bucks I believe.
PWN just dropped to free in the App store. I think it’s been mentioned a few times upthread.

Sounds like you are looking for the Aliens vs. Humans app, which is a very faithful clone of the original.
Not only this, but they recently added online multiplayer.
And a bitchin’ skill system.

Oh yeah. I remember when I first learned the Trojan skill. Good, but awkward times. Wait, what are we talking about?

I just looked on my iPad - I have that game! One of those I bought on an impulse after reading about it, then never played, lol.
Well I’ve never played XCOM on another platform (or X-Com, or xCom, or X-whatever, any of them), and the iPad version allows for a clever loophole in my “Don’t buy more console games until you finish the ones you own” rule. So I’m loving XCOM on the iPad. Hooray!
