Bard’s Tale is now on sale for $1.99 (universal app) and now works with the new iPad. It’s a port of the xbox/ps2 era top down version plus it has the original 80’s version (1 & 2).

Awesome! I see it’s 1.34 GB. I’m already starting to regret getting a 32 GB iPad . . . .

I tried playing the original 80’s BT1 in the emulation mode a couple of weeks ago, and it was too painful to play.

Now that BT2 is out, I started playing it last night and it felt substantially more playable. Though as a kid, I played BT2 for scores of hours but never played BT1. So that may be clouding my objectivity.

I’m really looking forward to BT3 being added – I barely played that as a kid, and I’m hoping there were a few more amenities that make it even more playable.

Yeah, I don’t even have space left to update it on my 32GB iPad 2. So the retina display wasn’t the only reason I ordered the new iPad…

Neuroshima Hex is updating in April to include multiplayer asynchronous play. Do those of you who own it think it’ll be a good asynch game?

Still curious about this question. Tim said he liked NH, but he’s new to it. Any veterans to the game super-excited about asynchronous play?

Thanks! For $2 the new game looks worth a shot, and with BT1 and BT2 to dink around with as well it’s a no brainer.

Man, between this, Silversword, Time of Heroes and Dead Space I’m actually getting a backlog on my iPad. WTF?!

It’s pretty much the PC version, with some bars down the side to support touch interface. Swipe around to move, pinch to zoom. I’m not 100% sure this is going to work all that well interface wise, but we will see.

Tutorial looks terrible, but I think it is actually a pre recorded video in low resolution

I found my old IG2 disks though and I kind of want to just install those and play it with mouse :-)

Its super duper nostalgia time though - EVERYTHING down to the ambient sounds is the same as PC.

Push buttons randomly! Actually it’s a great interface, at least on the PC.
