I’ve only played Nightfall (never played before) several times vs one level 3 AI so far, but I’m finding it pretty easy to beat by just picking 2 good cards that chain well together and spamming those. Hopefully they’ll continue to improve the AI.
Yeah, me, too. Utterly useless. I’m sure it will make total sense once I’ve learned the game. Until then, I guess the Internet will have to be guide.
nod I’ve not tried the higher AI yet, but yes, this seems to be an excellent strategy. Picking two cards for my personal archive that chain and even kick the other one gives you a strong starting point. I cleaned up in one match because one of the public cards kicked one of my private archive cards (which kicked the other one.) I just bought these three cards in abundance and the game was mine in three or four turns.

It’s still up, so I tried one more time when I went to bed. Wal-Mart cancelled it overnight, third time.
Still no response from the customer service e-mail.

Strange. I got the Wallyworld deal first time with a Visa, and tried it later using Paypal since it seemed some were having problems with Visa cards. The second one took several hours before showing up, but it did.
Target B&M stores have a 4 pack of $15 cards for $51, so for those deemed unworthy by Walmart for whatever reason that’s another option if you’re near a store.
One reason i loaded up on another iTunes card was being a war gamer , I was quite interested in Battle Academy which is freaking $20. Got it last night and damn, that is slick and quite fun. I think they’re screwing themselves with that price, but I paid it since I had skipped the PC version of this one. I’m definitely liking it more than my other “serious” war game, Combat Mission Touch. That’s not bad, but it’s interface is somewhat clunky and the graphics sometimes a bit dodgy.
I’m also liking Neuroshima Hex quite a bit. Luck certainly plays a big role, as some draws can really screw you, but the more I play the more I’m able to come back from some early misfortunes. I think this will be a huge hit around here when they add asynchronous multi.

Ah, thanks for the tip on Target, Volksy. I’ll have to drop by.
I finally heard back from Wal-Mart support. Canned message saying the item must have gone out of stock. Then why don’t you show that on your site? What is this, 1998 e-commerce?
Guessing they ran out of tokens. If I can get $60 for $51 at Target, that’s not quite as good, but still better than $60 for $60.

I am only the messenger, but I went ahead and tried the Walmart deal just now as I have several iPad games on my ‘want’ list. It worked as I had the code emailed to me within an hour. Who knows.
Sorry DennyA.

Bizarre. Oh well, picked up some cards at Target, still saved.
I ordered 2 on Friday and got a call today asking me to confirm what I ordered. Once I did so I had the codes within a couple hours.
This appears to be incorrect, now that I purchased the full Neuroshima Hex game. The game comes with two, not four, teams, and two available for $2 each. Am I seeing things?
Base game: borgo, hegemony, moloch, outpost
Expansion: neojungle, new York
( I could have one of the expansion teams mixed up with base game, but that’s what I recall, and I know neojungle is right.)
Yeah… I am a dumb teetlepants. Thanks!
I’d explain why I thought there were just two teams, but it’s percabrius.
So, if Baldur’s Gate and BG II Enhanced Editions are coming to the iPad, does that mean that Planescape: Torment is eventually going to make an appearance as well? Didn’t they use the same engine? I’ve already played the hell out of the BG series, and I don’t think I’m up for revisiting it, but I’m ashamed to admit that I missed out on PS: T and would be happy to buy it and play it, iPad-style.

I’m in the same boat Ephraim. I’ll probably buy the iPad BG games out of brand loyalty, but I’d love to tackle Planescape Torment on my iPad. My sense, from what the Beamdog guys have said, is that they’re going to see how the BG games sell, and take it from there. Personally, I think they’re going to make a killing.
Am I the only nerd over thirty who never played a BG game? I’m gonna try these, though. I hope you dudes will still let me hang out here. I have played Torment and loved it, wouldn’t say no to that port, either.
Holy crap, that’s awesome! Thanks!

Maybe Jason Cross can add that list to the first post.
So, on Nightfall, I’ve seen the AI attack itself (in cases where it clearly did not have to). And not, “attack another AI player” but “damage target player” or “damage target player’s minions” pointed at itself in a two player game.
Has anyone else seen that?

Thanks for making the list Jason. I’d add on:
Elder Sign: Omens
Neuroshima Hex
Timeline
Neuroshima Hex is a strategy game. Timeline is a trivia game, I guess I’d list it as miscellaneous. Elder Signs is a boardgame port, I suppose it could go under Strategy.
[Edit] Oops, looks like Neuroshima is already on there.
