The reveal is set!
For sure we’ll get the new pantheon of iPhones, but word on the street is that we’ll also see new AirPods 3 and maybe even AirPods Max 2nd gen, though the only change will be USB C.
Oh, and also Apple Watch 10th gen.

I think my strategy is to buy a new iPhone 15 on discount as soon as Apple price drops them. I don’t need a 16. But my 12 Pro Max is getting long in the tooth.
Or maybe not. I’m really not feeling any need to replace the phone aside from, “I’ve never had an iPhone for this long before.”
I can be talked into a 16, but an Ultra 3 and improved (not just adding usb-c) Max are calling my name.
I just buy a new unlocked pro max phone every year now, selling the old one back to Apple for $850 or so. Costs me roughly $400 per year to always have a new phone with zero commitments. Sure it’s extravagant and unnecessary but also not actually all that expensive to do, for a device that’s on your person every single day.
Now if Apple releases a Pro Max Ultra (sigh) as they are rumored to do, I can’t imagine paying $1800 for a phone, that’s like a grand after my trade-in. What could they offer to make it worth an additional $600? It would have to be something truly special.
What do you get out of always having a new phone? Serious question.
People who buy $1500 phones but balk at paid apps drive me crazy. They are the same people who place no value on desktop PC software.
Not much, I fully acknowledge there’s no particular reason to upgrade yearly. It’s never justified. I just have the money and want to. I’m like a low-rent @Chris_Johnson.
I’m fine paying for apps, I just won’t subscribe to apps. Services yes, apps no.
I went from an iPhone 12 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max and the improvement in the cameras alone was stunning. Low light iPhone pictures are insanely cool.
That’s not “always having a new phone” but coincides with paying off the last one then trading in for the new one.
Oh sure, 3 or even 2 year intervals make sense. Yearly like me, less so.
Honestly, if I wasn’t in the upgrade program I probably would make better decisions about iPhones. But there have been quality of life improvements since 12 that justify upgrading if you can afford it. Battery life is good (can’t remember on it was the 13 or 14 that had terrible battery life), USB-C, better screens, improved cameras if you are into that, etc. I went from 14 to 15 because I was in the upgrade program and USB-C was here. 15 to16 currently looks like even less of an upgrade, but we’ll see. And if 17 has more RAM and we’re all immersed in Apple Intelligence, that may be a reason to upgrade then, but who knows?
I always have this dream that an Android phone/Windows laptop combo will take me away and end the madness, but I keep coming back to Apple’s garden.
All I need is a phone that takes good dick pix.
I think that’s the Special Edition Anyhony Weiner model.

To satiate tech-lust, mostly.
The tech-lust is strong if you’re interested in iOS 18’s AI features and you don’t already have a 15 Pro. Personally I’m less interested in the writing/drawing tools and just want a smarter, more conversational Siri.
MORE LIKE HUBBLE TELESCOPE SO IT CAN SEE THE OTHER END!
Also, iPhones are for gay dicks
What writing/drawing tools could be useful on a phone, with its little screen?
I wonder if the narrative of “these prices are fucking stupid” will make it mainstream this year? Decent chance it will, as it has in the car market for example.
