Yes, it already got several recommendations a few posts back.

Yeah, it can be quite a grind. I lost all my lives at a boss who was spamming the screen with cheap-ass fireballs. If it hadn’t been for that guy, lord knows how long I would have been able to go on.

Of course, the real skill is in the time trial. :)

Found my own little Warblade zen spot after getting a maximum meteor storm bonus early on and buying the biggest weapon and all available extras. Result after two hours: 245,270,810 with a rank of Admiral 2 Bronze Stars. Phew!

I nearly finished two complete runs through the game. I actually managed to survive a quadshot icon thanks to lucky drops (memory station & meteor storm) that got me through to the next shop. What eventually killed me was weapon downgrade by death near the end of the second level cycle.

And now I think I’ll retire from Warblading. What a grind!

Oh yeah, I was wrong about the shop only offering the first armor bonus. Don’t know what happened in my earlier game but now I could buy two armors and saw them correctly displayed on the screen.

Also, what exactly is “May the fate of the gods be with you” supposed to mean? :)

OK all you Warblade pros out there what control scheme do you prefer?

All this Warblade talk encouraged me to download the demo. That might not have been the wisest of decisions. After 45 minutes I had 43 million and I couldn’t hit purchase fast enough. Ah well, it isn’t like I had anything else to do anyway.

I’m amazed at the 1billion score from krayzkrok. That is truly epic. Apparently there is much free time to be had in filming crocs;)

As for the control scheme (and I’m not an expert), I can’t make the tilt controls works at all for me. I’m digital on screen inputs all the way.

If I want to see you all in my friends list I assume I have to put friend requests in through openfeint? What is the proper etiquette for that? Any need for pm’s here or should I just friend away?

Friend away. It’s not like there are state secrets on the friends list.

Digital.

I’m not sure I should start another game of Warblade. Half of my brain is screaming that it’s an unbalanced mess, but the other half wants to complete all the goals. If the goals were further out I could write them off as the developer padding the game, but they all seem possible. Just difficult.

Is there some repository of Openfeint names, or are they mixed in this thread? I’ve been too lazy to add people so far.

Another vote for Helsing’s Fire. I’m liking this game a lot, can’t stop playing it in the past few days.

I use the slide controls for warblade. Note that I do play on the iPad. The bigger screen size makes things a little more obvious than they might be on the iPhone.

I wouldn’t bother with the Star Wars Hoth TD game. The graphics are mediocre, the controls are clunky, and the gameplay is only moderately interesting. It’s hard to determine the range of your towers, your units can take damage and die but there’s no way to heal them, it’s just kind of a meh game with a AAA license.

Aaarrrggh!! Now I’m pissed (angry, not drunk).

Had gotten up to 3.2 billion in Warblade. Was killing the final boss for the 8th time when the game crashed, losing all progress.

Think that’s the last game of Warblade i’ll ever play.

And I know, it didn’t happen if there’s no proof :-)

Really addicted to Aqueduct. Great puzzle game that’s a combination of Pipe Dream, and uh… Chip’s Challenge, or maybe that old Kwik game on Gameboy.

We believe you (riiiight).

After my epic Warblade game, the phone hard locked after I went back to the app screen - and I mean, seriously hard locked, for about 15 minutes. It displayed the silver Apple icon and just sat there, and not even a hard reset would fix it. I let it cool down and eventually it rebooted fine. I wasn’t even playing it continuously either, although I wish I’d known that if you hit the pause button and then the home button, it saves your state so you can still use the phone. I just hit the sleep button but didn’t dare quit out of the app!

No wonder there are people with 27 billion at the top of the global leaderboard - it would take several days of continuous playing to get a score like that, although I imagine they’re pretty good at getting bonus multipliers during meteorstorms!

I just fired the game up and started playing… it was level 7 before I realised what I was doing and had to tear myself away. It’s a drug.

I just got 7 billion in Warblade and then my iPhone locked up! For serious*!

  • Not really. I only got 5 billion**.

** Okay, not really. I haven’t played since getting my current high score and I’m not likely to go back. I don’t really want an endurance run in my shmup.

Does anyone know how to modify this list of Qt3 gamer tags to include Open Feint?

-Tom

If you want to add me to your Open Feint “friends” list (and by friends I mean your junk friends that populate your social networks), my Open Feint name is cleverly the same as my real Xbox Gamertag: Jim Preston.

Kometen got updated today. “Different regions to explore” sounds like new planets, but I don’t see any new unexplored areas on the map. I finished the game a few weeks back and while I loved it, I’m not sure if I’m motivated enough scour the universe for new planets that might not be there.

Zen Bound 2 is out for the iPhone, and it is awesome.

Runs beautifully on my 3GS.

I haven’t yet finished Zen Bound, is 2 just more puzzles?
