Excellent. Thanks Cory. Has some I knew about and others I did not.
Good recommendations except for Wabash Cannonball, which has sorry AI. Also, the Tichu AI only takes so long on its highest difficulty level, and the default AI (which takes only a few seconds per AI turn) is plenty good for beginning and intermediate players, especially after the latest update. It’s a superb card game and it’s a miracle the dev programmed a workable AI at all, let alone one that’s actually decent. If you like card games, you must try it.

Speaking of iPhone board games, has anyone played Roll Through the Ages? Should I buy it?

Flip a few pages back or do a search. I am fairly certain it was discussed.

Ooh, thanks for posting that, Cory. I have most of those, but I’m about to have all of them. Michael Barnes rocks!

No prob!
The iPhone version of Bit Trip Beat came out a couple days ago and is on sale for $1.99. It is a pretty good port of the Wii version. The controls aren’t quite as precise as the Wiimote, but it still works. There is also an option to control by touch instead of tilt.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I’d heard it was coming but completely forgot about it.
Edit: And of course it’s 3rd gen or later. :( I bought it and spend a few minutes trying to figure out why it wouldn’t sync before I checked the store page. I’m not too annoyed, it’s only $1.99, but I really wish iTunes would do something like say “Hey! You haven’t synced a compatible device with iTunes yet, are you sure you want to buy this?” before popping a purchase.

from the boardgame list, I’d suggest skipping FIGHTING FANTASY: THE WARLOCK OF FIRETOP MOUNTAIN as it was sooooooooo slooooooooow and prone to constant crashing
DUNGEON SOLITAIRE seemed more like a way to get you to buy additional expansions than a good game in its own right. I quickly tired of it which is a shame because it was a great concept

Probably talked about this 50 pages ago in one of its earlier iterations, but I picked up Baseball Superstars 2010 for $.99 once it went on sale yesterday after playing the Lite version earlier in the week. Love the RPG, statistics-laden feel and multiple modes of play.
You pretty much have to try to not get your money’s worth out of these games. ;) After 15 minutes, I figure I am good.
Not sure anyone cares in here for “blockbusters” but whatever:
Predators
James Cameron’s Avatar
for $0.99 as well.

Nelson Tethers is totally worth $0.99 from my 20 minutes of play so far. It didn’t get super great reviews on the PC, but it’s charming and weird and it’s a Professor Layton clone with high production values. For a buck? Sure.

Peggle on the iPhone has been updated with some DLC. You can buy Peggle Nights for $2.99.

Yes, I’m biased, but I honestly belive that Peggle Nights content is superior to the original game’s. That said, I haven’t seen it on iphone yet.

I played hours and hours of Baseball Superstars 2010 this weekend. I love hearing the crack of the bat.

Yeah, $2.99 for Peggle Nights is a steal. The base game is great on the iPhone, so I expect Nights will be just as good.
Early reports indicate Nights causes problems for a lot of people who’ve tried it, so you might want to wait to see if they’re right or a patch is released.
Nights is down to $0.99 right now.
I bought it and will wait until the crashing is fixed
(I have no doubts that Popcap will sort it out).
