Picked up the WSOP poker game when it was free a couple weeks ago and finally got around to playing it. Ug, horrible AI. Maybe it’s intentional so players can actually make decent progress, but for someone that’s spent any time semi-seriously understanding the game it’s a joke. Plus, it’s constantly bugging you to make micropayments for various things.

Bit Trip Beat for iPhone and iPad for $.99. I’ve never played any of the Bit Trip games. Is Beat worth a buck?

The Cosmic box of Cut the Rope is pretty hard, and definitely requires twitch skills. I found I need to have one thumb resting on the gravity button, and the other hand does all the cutting. I’ve needed to pull off quite a few well timed cut/gravity flip combos, and this just in the first two levels.

For all the Angry Birds lovers in here, watch this You Tube clip:

So awesome!!

Love the comments. “Even the Angry Birds know Jews did WTC!” God bless YouTube.

To anyone who has been curious about Ash, it’s mothaflippin’ free today! No excuse not to grab it.

Castlevania: Puzzle is also $.99.

AppShopper has a good list of popular games on sale, all games on sale and popular games that are now free.

Ash is free!

Piyo Blocks 2 for just $0.99!

So in 100 Rogues, do you just wail on the second boss until he dies or am I missing something? I feel dumb.

I just wanted to whine a little that I forgot to pick up Broken Sword while it was on sale. The French version is still on sale, but that doesn’t help me. Merde!

However with the sale on the two Monkey Island games, I do believe this makes the ten thousandth time that I’ve purchased The Secret of Monkey Island.

Odd, on the very day you posted this they released v1.01

  • Death Worm is a Universal App now !!!
  • iPad OS 4.2 multitasking support
  • iPad OS 4.2 GameCenter support
  • New Game Mode - Survival (Endless)
  • New Mini Game - Air Defence
  • New Feature - Camera Zoom Control

Or was your point that the newly added Endless mode is weak for some reason?

Ha! No, I posted just before that update. Thanks for letting me know, I’ll reinstall Death Worm right away!

I finally took the plunge after so much good word - great rogue-like so far. I hope more characters unlock (I see the “?” next to Crusader and Mage but I can’t select them).

I think they are in development.

GTA:CW is on sale again, this time for another dollar on top of the last sale. Grand total of 50% off, $4.99.

And if you missed the $.99 Hero of Sparta 2 sale, never fear, it’s on sale again! For $4.99.

Seeing as how they brought 100 Rogues down to an impulse price, I decided to take a punt on it. It runs like a crippled hog on my 3GS, but apart from that it’s pretty compelling stuff. I still prefer Sword of Fargoal, but I think I’ll get some mileage out of this.

That is surprising as it runs fine on my 3GS, and on that of a friend. Is the game known to be particularly resource hungry or is there possibly something wrong with your device?

Perhaps “runs like a crippled hog” is overstating the issue somewhat, but I’m known to exaggerate. It’s particularly noticeable when I run through a room or along a corridor, the screen judders in a quite ugly manner as the map refresh struggles to keep up with the character’s position. I doubt there’s anything wrong with my device, it has no problem with anything else, but the game in its early iterations was certainly known to be a) packed with bugs and b) crashing regularly due to running out of memory. They’ve obviously fixed most of this, but it still seems a little… shaky.

Anyway it hardly matters, the game plays just fine and I’m enjoying it.

This just in: Piyo Blocks 2 is the best falling block puzzle ever!

Also, Super Blast is a great minimalistic scrolling shooter, basically the opposite of bullet hell shooters.

In further news, Castlevania Puzzle found to be ‘poop straight from a butt’. Thousands of dealseekers want their $.99 back! More on this story as it develops.
