Battleheart was released, it’s a universal app and looks and plays great at least on the iPad. Reports of crashing abound but I myself have run into no problems yet.
Kind of stuck at the moment, looks like the game wants me to grind to get past a boss mob, either that or I just suck (which is pretty likely actually).
Not yet, but if I can convince, say you and Guapo to get it, we can start one. :) I got the Carcassonne board game for Christmas. I’d love to try the iPhone version.
Hell, I started WordsWithFriends since I missed my turned based Uniwar so much.

I still play Carcassonne regularly. Also, I’m really enjoying Disc Drivin’ as my current favorite asynchronous multiplayer game.
I wish Carcassonne would drop in price for the iPad. I have it on my iPhone so don’t really want to pay again (and while it’s universal, the iPad and iPhone are under two different iTunes iAccounts) but would really like being able to play hotseat-style with my girlfriend.
Whoops. Sorry about that. Though if it makes you feel any better it’s all guessing on our parts.
Disc Drivin’ fuzzyslug - get it! They also just updated the app so you can now start random matches as well, although limited to 2 players at the moment.
Incidentally, I was looking at Carcassonne on the AppStore and my finger accidentally hit the Buy Now button. And then I accidentally typed my password in. Clumsy oaf. Oh well, better figure out how to play it then!
ps. if you like Disc Drivin’, definitely buy the full version. The ad-supported free version is identical, but a) the ads make it a bit unreliable and b) it’s worth the money.

Since my uniwar games have slowed as well I may take a look at those two games myself. Been missing getting my fix in of little turn based games
Lonely Planet is doing something similar to last year when they gave away free apps concerning cities where stranded people (due to the volcano ash) were sitting on airports so they could do some sightseeing etc.
This time they provide 13 free city guides for people sitting in North American airports due to the winter weather.

Really nice gesture again from them.
I’m up for some Carcasonne. I love the tabletop game, but haven’t played it on iOS yet – although I did buy it for the iPad. I need to fire it up!

That sounds like me! And currently I’ve only got one 1v1 game running against a friend (who chose the bugs against my sapiens, the bastard), so feel free to add me if you create any new games.
Anyone ever gift a game before? Does it matter whether or not the email address it gets sent to is actually the address tied to the iTunes account?

New games in 10 minutes!
League of Evil-

It’s some sort of Super Meat Boy like platformer. I will buy and report if it is good!
Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden-

Gameloft Zelda with a twist: it’s free but you can unlock the full game as an in game purchase. I will download to try it out. might buy it if is good, seeing I have 8 hours of bus rides this weekend…

Absolutely in love with Space Miner. The first iPhone game I have tried that makes me put on the earphones and settle down to play for more than fifteen or twenty minutes at a time. I’m about 50% through it, which makes me sad because, well, I want it to keep going.
I am also ashamed that I got stuck on the Gemini mission where the giant robot attacks you without mercy, I had the weapon needed to beat it sitting on the shelf and failed time after time until I had that “duh!” slap yourself in the head moment and equipped it. This is such a fun game.
I’ve played Infinity Blade a bit, but I resent the whole pay more money to get ahead thing they have going on there. I understand the model, but I don’t like it, and I’ll probably never beat it due to laziness, lack of time and general resentment that if I pay them $49.99 I can buy everything I want.
(If I actually get into that game I’ll probably spend the money and the bastards will have me after all…)

Space Miner is really on of the best on the iPhone. Anyone who thinks on screen touch controls can’t work should take a look at that game.
So, impressions!
League of Evil - Holy shit balls. Do you like platformers with 9 second long stages where you can die and instantly respawn? Then this is the game for you. Only 99 cents too, really cool.
Devil May Cry 4 - So I caved and bought it. Fuck you!! You don’t know me! Broken up into bite sized missions, on screen buttons actually decent. For 2 bucks and 10 minutes playtime, I recommend it. NO RETINA IS A SIN AGAINST MY EYES CAPCOM UPDATE THAT SHIT NOW.

It’s always the games you actually want more content for that never get it.

If you really enjoy Space Miner, you should check out both (or one) of the I Dig It games. The gameplay is different, of course, but the underlying reasons why it’s so addictive are very similar.
I’m embarrassed to admit I grinded my way to the Infinity Blade. In retrospect I wish I had just paid money for it and had those hours back.

I know! The script is so sweet and funny. And the lead character (if you choose the girl) is sort of adorable and hot in equal measure.
That’s a misunderstanding. They added that silly microtransaction option in an update but it’s really unnecessary – you can easily earn enough money in the game to buy just about anything you want. Just make sure to tap on all the money bags, including the ones that only come into view during transition cutscenes!
Also, “beating” the game really just means defeating the god king and then starting over again, with the god king now a higher level. You should be able to defeat his first iteration long before you’ve exhausted the item shop.
Hey, I’m still playing Uniwar. Feel free to send invites to markweston (especially team games).
And yeah, notifications are still broken. Being an addict I got into the habit of checking my games several times a day on spec but if you tended to rely on the notifications to remind you to check the game I can see this being a big problem.
