I did and do rely on notifications. Any word on it getting fixed?

Has anyone tried Battleheart? You control 4 characters from a selection of multiple classes. It is an Action-y RPG where you swipe from your character to the baddie to attack and swipe to move and swipe from the healer to one of your dudes to heal. It appears to be having some bug issues that may have been patched.Looks interesting.

Not at all. Hell, if they open up the e-mail on the device they’re going to be playing, they can just click the redeem button and it’ll do all the hard work for you.
I gift stuff to myself all the time, since my GF’s iPad is tied to her account, not mine. But I e-mail the stuff to my own e-mail.
I have Battleheart, fun so far but I’m only 3 battles in.

How hectic does it get swiping all over the place during the battles?

I find it frustrating sometimes, but I am getting used to it.
biggest problem so far is when all my guys end up behind each other and you can’t click them. i wish they couldn’t overlap.
it does get kind of frantic. lol

I’ve been playing Puzzle Quest 2 on my ipad and I love it! It’s a little buggy, I’ve had it crash three or four times either on a loading screen or getting to a loading screen and sometimes when you want information about an item other menus get in the way, but otherwise I like being able to slide the gems around with just a finger swipe.

Ah, I stand corrected then. I lost my first battle to the god king so quickly and have so little money that I thought it would take a year to grind my way to a win, if you say it’s possible to do it without spending more real money then I’ll give it another try. But not until I’m done with Space Miner!
Both of those games are enjoyable to me because they are immersive and make me want to play with headphones to shut out the rest of the world when I’m playing. Any other suggestions for games that have that appeal? Most of the iPhone games I have seen seem to be designed to be quick things to do for a few minutes when you need a distraction or are killing time. I stormed through Angry Birds and it was okay, but it was fifteen minutes here, ten there, not really the way I like to play games most of the time.
I have read a lot, but not all, of this thread btw, which is why I bought Infinity Blade and Space Miner. Maybe I missed some other good suggestions while skimming through the pages.
Immersive and absorbing games? My votes go to Dead Space [playing with headphones in darkened room is obligatory], Sword of Fargoal [highly atmospheric music and presentation], Osmos [same reason], Galaxy on Fire 2 [but I love space games anyway], The Quest / Undercroft [step-based first-person RPG games that tend to pull you in], Game Dev Story [this isn’t a headphones “immersive” experience, but it’s like crack and you won’t be playing in 10 minute sessions] and probably a few others that are likely just because I love the intense concentration needed (eg. Silverfish, geoSpark, Spirit, Warblade).

Thanks! I’ll try them in that order when I’m done with IB and SM.
I like it so far. I’ve run into the same problem though, every three or four levels I have to grind for a while or I’ll get wiped out easily.

Found out I didn’t have to grind much and so far it’s been smooth sailing. I run into some bumps every once in awhile but that’s not a bad thing. Really like it, the graphics are fantastic and the controls are responsive. Because your characters can occupy the same space, and also exacerbated by the way the tank works, you often end up having to move one guy out of the way to get to another but you quickly learn to work around this.
Not so sure I would be enjoying myself nearly as much on the iPhone though, a lot less real estate for your fat fingers to differentiate between your guys.
haven’t felt the need to grind yet. Using Witch, Bard, Monk and then whatever for the fourth.
The monk is a better tank imo because of the ability to hit everything on the screen at once and get aggro. i’ve got him fitted with +10% lifeleech.
Disc Drivin’ is $0.99 right now, for the three of us left who haven’t got it yet (I think it was $3 when I checked yesterday).
Yeah, once I switched out another character for the monk things became a little easier and I didn’t seem to need to grind anymore.
I was surprised, and delighted, to see Volume Three of Cause of Death is available. I guess they really are planning on churning these out once a week for the foreseeable future.
Great game.
There’s a thread for Cause of Death now! Though I’ll say here that I hope EA does some sort of catch up weekend with all episodes for just .99 or something. Let people get caught up on the story for less than the $5 it’d cost now.
Finally beat krok’s Super Blast 2 highscore on Hard! Only took me a couple of months, too. Now to work on Silverfish…
