So the new dungeon in Infinity Blade is nice but unlike the optional path in the castle, it’s not an extension but a shortcut. You get directly to the final tower, losing out on a lot of XP and loot. Why would I do that?

Also, everyone should buy Cows vs Aliens! It’s much better than I first thought. Multi-fingered cow herding and alien pushing is great fun!

I imagine you’d do that when you’re pretty sure you can win if you go directly to the final tower.

You can loop it though going up and down. Also looks like you need the infinity blade to get into some section of the dungeon.

Yes, I noticed the sword-shaped impression on the monolith. I just hope these mutually exclusive paths won’t prevent me from ever getting the “collect all treasures” achievement which I still hope to get…

To clarify, the part where you can go up and down is just the second half of the (unlocked) dungeon. The first half is directly under the well and unreachable except from there. Most annoying.

BTW, maybe I’ve just gotten really rusty at the game, but the enemies locked behind the infinity blade in the new dungeon are hard (as in, I haven’t beaten either of the two guys I encountered so far after about 30 mins of trying). It’s kind of nice to have a new challenge, though.

The wooden jester and the similar two-blade knight in the old areas are very tough as well. Difficult to parry or evade, and the knight variant does lots of damage even when you block. On the upside, stabbing is much easier now. The time window and the hotspot seem bigger.

Meanwhile, Helsing’s Fire just got yet another big update with a new campaign – time to reinstall!

Yeah the new “season” is a bit lame although it started pretty interesting with the hunt.
Well if it’s stays free I can’t really complain much and will continue to spend the 30-60 min (depending if I reach 80 points in the first go for the bonus scene or have to restart) per week.

I have no clue how they think they can finance it.
I already stated that I would be ok with paying $.99 per season.

And yes they absolutely need a cheaper way for newcomers to get the old material as it builds on each other quite a bit and people lose some background story if they start with Season 3 now.

Tiny Wings makes me feel like I did when playing Mirror’s Edge: exhilarating when I get going, devastating when I slam to a halt.

Knizia’s High Society bidding card game is $.99. Some folks around here like it I believe. Haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

Don’t miss Defender of the Oasis. Similar to the PC-version and just as good.

I recall liking it, though I recall liking Knizia’s Money (built on the same engine) even more.

Can’t seem to find this. Is that the correct name?

The PC version was just called “Oasis”. Maybe the iOS version was “Defense of the Oasis”?

Oh, that Oasis. Stoneship is a good enough Oasis clone for me.

Is there a single player HoMM-type game? I’ve been playing Emross War which is like multiplayer HoMM but I think I would prefer single player. Thanks.

Any good city builders available? There’s a SimCity but it seems pretty poorly received.

HotSpringsStory may have many more options total because of the tile placing, but it feels much less complex than GDS to me. I found optimizing facilities for popularity easier than predicting the interactions of theme/genre and HR components of GDS.

The Wood Jester I find pretty damn hard if I’m trying to parry and just usually block/dodge though. The Knight for some reason I find a lot easier to predict and can generally parry my way though a fight.

Also, while I like the game, some of the art is…just fucking weird. Fat guy with a dickpouch? Really?
