I’m worried that the 1.3 update for Dungeon Raid will take a simple, elegant design and cram it full of extra unneeded crap. But Tom commented on Jason’s post that he is probably not as much a ‘fan’ of DR as he is its ‘thrall’, and that makes me giddy.

How does the class unlock system in Dungeon Raid work?

I can’t figure it out, but I have not spent a whole lotta time with it. The Ranger unlocked first, but I have no idea what I was doing at the time. Is there documentation on all the skills and upgrades somewhere? I have not looked prior to 1.3.

I do think, as you are logged into Gamecenter, that it checks for achievements after every move. So I get a delay every time I kill a special monster for the Bloodlust achievement. The screen freezes for a second and the animation sorta starts and then is resolved without seeing the rest of the animation.

Special note about Trainyard. Get both the free & pay versions - they have different puzzles.

What I noticed is that the delay was every time an achievement updated. Once I finished the Bloodlust achievement, killing a special didn’t cause the delay.

I’m not sure what produces a trophy, but I think it may be killing a number of specials. What actually unlocks (class level or new class) is random as far as I can tell. At least now I have a reason to get Big Game Hunter as a skill.

As for spell documentation, there’s descriptions of all of them in the Adventurer edit screen when you create a new game. It’s just missing the class specific spells, until they’re unlocked.

Didn’t know that. I have to play the free version now!

Yeah, I assumed when the Bloodlust achievement was done that stutter would end, but I have not gotten many other achievements, so I wonder if it is going to happen with every achievement. The Bloodlust achievement just occurs so often until you get tho that 100 number.

I believe I only received a trophy when I unlocked the ranger class and when I raised that class to Level 2.

I’m playing the free version of Trainyard – fittingly, the first set of puzzles is ‘British Columbia’ – and it’s a great diversion, exactly what I was looking for. Will be picking up the paid version when I’m done.

I’m just glad there are no blood-curdling screams when the trains crash because…there would be a lot of blood-curdling screams.

Yes. Not surprised Roburky hates it, he has questionable views on kittens and sunlight too.

Forget-me-not is another revelation. I wasted my whole afternoon trying to top the leaderboard (currently 14th I think).

It may look like a Pac Man CE clone, but it really isn’t. You must collect all the flowers on the board and use a key to unlock a door to finish the level. The twist is that your character shoots and there is a dozen different enemy types.

This last week was really good to all iOS gaming.

I’ve got a (hopefully simple) question for you IPhone gaming wizards.

I got an Iphone4 a while back, but it’s my employer’s property. I’ve got quite a few games on there that I know I will like and play (just as soon as I achieve a perfect 3 star showing on Angry Birds which is taking me a while).

Hypothetically speaking I’m on the bubble, and could easily lose said job, and need to turn in the IPhone4.

However, I like the Iphone4 and am very likely to purchase my own if that should occur.

I have my apps backed up on my home PC, and I’m using a personal (not work) email address as my Apple ID.

Am I going to be able to install the games I have bought on my new Iphone4 (just synch)?

Thank you for the help…!

I’m pretty sure that if the games were purchased through and tied to your personal account, you’re good to go.

Wow, there are actually a few things I’m surprised to have not seen a recommendation for yet, being Plants vs Zombies and Drop7 and Words with Friends. I’ll also include lighter recommendations for Mirror’s Edge and the silly little Lego Minifigures slot machine.

I’ll also agree with all previous comments about Dungeon Raid

Thanks Slantz! Guess I will find out if it happens. What I did, I think, is change the email address from my work email to my home email quite a while back (with this in mind) - so as far as Apple is concerned it’s now my account. And I paid for the apps (games). Hopefully it will work out.

I unlocked the priest first, then the warrior.

Yeah, I can only imagine it will.

In my case, I’ve got an ipod touch and an ipad. I use my account on both, and any (iphone) game I buy on either device can freely be downloaded to the other.

I can’t imagine why your situation would be different. As long as you’ve backed your games up on your PC, I think they can be freely put on another device authenticated against your account. (You’ll want to make sure you remove your credentials/authentication on your old work device.)

Even if you didn’t do that, you can freely re-download apps to any device that you’re logged into. It’s just an app-by-app process that way, as far as I know.

edit: whoops. meant for bttf thread.

Ok here’s what I’ve been able to find in regards to Dungeon Raid unlocks.
Seems a special will turn to a trophy, what the requirements for this are unclear. The trophy will either level up your class or unlock a new class. You don’t get trophies in Easy mode, so can’t play that just to unlock stuff. Since the default class of adventurer has no levels it probably is best to play as that if trying to unlock classes.

Had a good game today where I managed to get to level 19.

I managed to get a Trophy but how do you get them?

They’re based off of killing the special monsters, whether it’s a set number or random chance is unclear.
