Especially weird given that CivRev is available in Australia.

Does anyone know whether the Tactics / Battle Ogre games, or similar SRPGs, are coming out on the iOS at any point? These are games that I missed when I was younger on account of not having a games console, and I’d like to pick them up now if they’re coming onto the market.

Final Fantasy Tactics is coming, though the latest release date they’ve mentioned is the vague “Spring 2011” (can’t post links but they post “notes” on facebook as SQUARE-ENIX-DLG and the note is #472733836300). I’ve actually never really played any of these types of games and am looking forward to giving one of them a try.

SPOILER You cheated, so that 1% is unattainable :)

SPOILER 2 It’s a sequence of #s… If you want them PM me.

Full disclosure: i work at Capy, part of the team that made Sworcery.

The game looks great, I’m looking forward to the iphone release. Hope it runs on my 3g!

How many people worked on the project? It’s hard to tell from the websites. Did capy do all of the programming while the art and sound were produced elsewhere? Also, how many people do you have at capy?

Feel free to ignore me if the companies are being deliberately cryptic, I’m just always curious how other shops are set up.

Since you asked :)

Its a multiplayer online ‘opinionated’ question game. Its about as far from trivia as it can get though because you don’t need to know anything except what the other players will probably answer.

I’ve been told its similar to Wii Vote (if you have a Wii… I do not so I can’t confirm) with an actual game attached to it.

We (Me and 3 others) spent over a year on Go Native! before we released it and I still spend about an hour a day adding more content to it. The amount of elbow grease we put in has really paid off - we’ve been getting plenty of good feedback about the polish of it.

I’d add screenshots and links… but I’m not allowed yet. Gotta get busy posting elsewhere ;)

It will run on your 3G (i have one).

The core team on the game was 5. Craig ‘Superbrothers’ Adams did every ounce of art and writing. Jim Guthrie did all the audio. Jon & Frankie did all the programming. Capy creative director Kris Piotrowski co-designed it with Craig.

Nothing about Dungeon Raid sounded even remotely interesting to me, but I bowed to peer pressure and picked it up. My god, it’s good. This is, in no way, a rehash of Puzzle Quest. I love it.

Thanks for the information Crom, can’t wait to play!

I picked up this game after the 23rd, so I think I got the upgraded version. Which means that I have no idea what the game was like before then. But this is exactly what I came here to ask. Thanks guys.

My first unlock was the Paladin, and I just got the Assassin too. Haven’t played them enough to really tell the difference yet. So far I’ve found that going for “regen” gear whenever possible makes a big difference, especially when you’re facing a lot of enemies.

If you play as an adventurer you’d basically be playing what all of us have been raving about these past few months although a few updates back they changed the animation style to a much shittier and slower model that makes speed-running impossible. They did make Easy much easier than it was before to the point where it’s silly.

I’m fond of spikes/blunting for whittling down enemies that I can’t scoop up in one barrage of swords and keeping my damage intake low. You really can’t ever focus on one style because the game just gets harder and harder and you have to be able to manage the screen so you never get stuck without a way to quickly regain some health/defense or do some damage.

Frog Minutes, by GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE is out today for $0.99. All proceeds go to the Japanese Red Cross.

Citizens, I need beta testers for the previously-posted-about-in-this-thread Airstrike Command. Any takers?

Send me an electronic mail to fernando at hardsixgames dot com if you are interested.

EDIT: Thanks to all of you who replied! Probably good for testers for the moment, but don’t hesitate to drop me a note if you’re interested as I may need you later on.

It looks interesting. I would be happy to test it. Sent you an email.

So I checked the Tiny Wings leaderboards. I’m more than a little dismayed to find out there are almost 100,000 people better than I am at this game. WTF. I thought I was a fairly decent. Talk about a reality check.

Can’t wait for my ipad 2 so I can get Sword & Sworcery!

I’ve tried to get into Tiny Wings and although the art is fantastic there is too little control. I’ve found that Pilot Winds is uglier but far more entertaining because you can bounce your way out of the doldrums by tapping the screen just as the penguin hits the wrong slide of a slope. Much easier to keep a good combo going with that small change.

Pilot Winds was getting roundly panned last time I checked because people are writing it off as a crappy Tiny Wings cash-in clone, but they’re missing out on what is arguably a better game.

I was actually kinda amazed how how much control you do have in Tiny wings. Being forced to do things like get 10 super slides in the first island, or get to an island without super slides, made me learn techniques I never would have discovered.

Speaking of the 10 slides on the first island: I’ve been fighting that one for awhile, got any tips?

So I just had a 13 000 game of Dungeon Raid that lasted for ever and I got like 4 trophies. I played adventurer, and I just grinded my way to level 45 until I died.

Skills:

Coins into Skulls
All new tiles are coins
Summon elite mob
5x damage

Honestly, it is the most unique game on the app store. Just keep in mind it is a slow paced adventure game and you will enjoy it immensely :) !
