Tikal came out for ipad tonight. I haven’t played the physical game before, but it seemed reasonably well done and I like what I’ve seen after one play through.
That Sword and Sworcery game is out for iPhone/iTouch. Downloading now.
Ooh, I’ve got that board game, so I’m definitely picking this up.

Has anyone tried porting the SCUMM engine to the iOS yet? I was thinking the other day that getting access to all the old LucasFilm classics would be cool, and for the kiddies, giving them access to Pajama Sam and all the Backyard series of sports games might be a good time suck.
If you’ve jailbroken your phone I believe they’ve made SCUMM for Cydia.
As we’ve seen with other emulators, you’re only going to get on the App Store if you bundle it with content and lock out the generic loading of non-approved content. So, you’d need Lucasarts’s cooperation to get some actual games, at which point they’re likely to just say “Pfft, forget you, we’ll just do it ourselves and take all the money.”

Yeah, the LucasArts games are probably out, and unfortunately I think Atari has the rights to Pajama Sam and the various old Humongous games. Tis a shame though.
The first two Monkey Island games are already on the App Store now, for $2.99 each or free if you get the ‘lite’ versions (which doesn’t address Josh’s question about the SCUMM engine in general but at least LA has made some of its games available officially).
It’s Angry Birds meets Plants vs. Zombies together with a topical holiday theme! Bunny the Zombie Slayer sets off every crass commercial cash-in alarm in my head. But hey, it’s only a buck and it’s Hothead, which is okay.

How does it play on the iPhone?
Unless there’s some gameplay twist that eventually shows up, this game is terrible.
Yep. Terrible. Probably going to be the iCross this week, telling everyone what a terrible game it is.
Oh hey, big Easter weekend game sale:
Beyond Ynth is listed as free, but showing up as a buck on the App Store. It’s a great game regardless of what they’re charging. I Dig It, Train Conductor, and Geared 2 are also great freebies.
Jason, I sense you’re being sarcastic regarding BtZS, and if so I’m curious to read your next iCross entry to see what I’m missing.
EDIT: There are more sales showing up in the thread linked in the article Jason linked. Mahjong Artifacts 2 is down to $1, and worth nabbing if you like that sort of thing.

So I’m new to iPhone games and I’m looking at this sale and wondering what would be good to snap up? Are there some outstanding, must-have games in this list?
