I can definitely see it not translating as well to the smaller screen. I think I said as much in my weekly iCross post about it. Can you “pinch to zoom” to zoom in on the screen?

Not this scene. The game auto zoom out and I cannot pinch to zoom.
The goal is to destroy the megatome atop the peak of mingi taw, to release the gogolithic mass from it’s evil immortality.
I just love saying mingi taw for some reason. Mingi taw, mingi taw…

What the hell? Not sure if anyone knows but the iPhone version of S:S&S EP has no multitask support. If a call came in while you are playing, you have to start from the last check point! And sometimes, when you go back to the game, the sound didn’t work and you have to ‘kill’ the game and restart.
Robot Wants Kitty is free today, if you enjoyed the original Flash game. I keep jumping when I mean to shoot, but I’m pretty bad at touch screen controls in general anyway.
I decided to try the free ‘lite’ version of The Secret of Monkey Island (I already have the Steam version on the PC) and while it’s been ported about as well as it could be, the small size of the iPhone display robs the game of most of its visual charm and that really dampens the overall experience. You can pinch to zoom but it’s a bit fiddly and further detracts from the game.
The higher resolution of the iPhone 4 doesn’t help out much, either. Everything is crisp but…tiny. You can hardly tell how awful Guybrush Threepwood’s hair is in the default Special Edition mode. Unless you pinch to zoom in on it. And brother, when you find yourself pinching to zoom in on Guybrush Threepwood’s hair, it’s time to just put the phone down and say, “No.”

That game is a amazing.
5 - 10 minute chunk of metroidvnia is something I never thought I wanted until I played this game.
And Canadians, Order and Chaos is out! 7$ plus 3 free months (then it’s 1$ per month).
Universal Wow clone for iOS, this could be huge.

I bought, will give deets later.

I am on the Arcadian Forest server on Order and Chaos Online.
I have to say I am impressed so far. Usually Gameloft offer shallow copies of franchises, and this definitely seems more robust. There are options for IAP, but they are only optional. I can imagine them forcing people to buy gold in the endgame, but as of now, I am not even sure there is an endgame.
Also, the fact that it’s universal sells it for me. I can literally switch platform in seconds and be exactly at the ame place seeing all the data is server side. As a tech demo to prove MMO’s are possible on iOS, it succeeds. Do you want to kill 5 wolves, turn the quest in, kill 5 bandits, turn the quest in, then group up to fight an elite mob? Then this game is for you. So far it’s been the usual grind, and I am really enjoying it!
The graphics are nice, but pop in and draw distance are eyesores.

I bought this a month ago and loved it, but didn’t recommend it at the time because I heard an update was coming to implement online level sharing (which would be awesome). At free, it’s a no brainer. Incidentally, you can change the position of the controls on-screen if you’re having difficulty. And having precise controls is what makes this game.
Kurdel, how are the controls compared to Aralon? I really thought that as far as presentation went Aralon did a passable WoW clone, even though the classes and skill trees weren’t nearly as interesting or deep. Unfortunately, the controls were pretty awful and despite several attempts to make them better, they never got much better.
…not that I’m going to pay seven bucks just to turn around and pay an extra buck a month to play an iOS game.
And how does that work? Is that an in-app purchase? Apple’s gotta get their monthly cut.

Aralon had a permanent and stationary virtual control stick, Order and Chaos doesn’t. Anywhere you touch becomes the new location of the v-stick. Also, pulling back makes you walk backwards, and I think in Aralon you started running towards the camera.
Aralon is a very ambitious game, but in no way compares to this. The entire interface is really polished and easy to use, which wasn’t really the case with Aralon.
When you buy the game you have 3 free months, then you can get more months via IAP. I think the initial purchase is well worth it, because there seems to be a LOT of content here. And if in 3 months I still want to play, I will probably just buy more months. It’s all so cheap, so I don’t really care.
I am level 6 already, and I have encountered only 1 bug. I will keep playing and make a bigger post later tonight. I have to finish my university work before I can waste time on an iPhone WoW clone T-T.

Here’s a cool and original game you all might be interested in:
The hero is Monimo and you have to foil the audacious plans of the evil Bowler.

99 cents. Grab it while it’s hot!
Haha done. Saves me buying a 3DS ;)

You can also earn three stars (or coins, I can’t recall) on every level by randomly tapping on the screen. I think it’s a pretty terrible game.

What kind of moron approves this stuff?
The same one that approved stuff like Contra & Wolfenstein 3D clones and puzzle games with Blizzard art.
Yeah, but you get to save GIRL COINS in a sort of flashback to the 1950s.

Just a warning: Order and Chaos is wifi only. Other than that yeah it’s basically wow on your iOS device.
I’m not sure why it’s WiFi only. I’ve been playing it on my jailbroken iphone using 3G unrestrictor and it’s running just fine on 3G.
