I’ve tried and it’s probably good, but I have no patience for CCGs and the visuals feel cluttered to me on the iPhone. Still, good to see old workmates like Dennis Detwiller in the credits.
That is a stupidly great price for that game.

Yeah, does anyone know the story there?
Spectromancers was Richard Garfield and Skaff Elias partnered w/ the Astral Tourney/Astral Masters guys.
Kard Combat is released by Hothead, but with exactly the same rules and mostly the same content, but completely different art and theme.
Was this some blatent clone? A complete reskinning? legit or shady?
It’s a legit licensed version of the game. They did not license the art assets or card names, hence the superficial changes.
Wow, anyone else check out Plants Vs Zombies with the latest update? The Retina upgrade to the graphics looks really incredible. This game continues to be awesome
Hi all. Looking for advice on a good game that would suit some android/iPhone owning people that are currently enjoying Uniwar. My mates are fairly casual and probably not willing to spend $10 (tho I could try) but anything good and multiplayer would be great. Ta.
Joystiq featured this “Async Corp” game today (http://appshopper.com/games/async-corp), and I’m generally a sucker for puzzle stuff, especially involving squares (Ok, mostly Lumines) – so I checked it out.
It’s really pretty sharp. The presentation is cool, the art/design is uniform. The different modes satisfy both the ‘race a clock’ style and ‘take your time and relax’ categories. All in all, totally worth a buck. Easy.
Apparently the dev team (4 dudes) all got laid off as soon as they submitted it to the App store though, so I guess there won’t likely ever be any updates to it. That’s a bit of a downer.

My current favourite game is Nanostudio. Technically it’s more of a fully featured recording environment and DAW, but damn if it’s not fun making little tunes up and filtering them, delaying them, putting beats to them.
And all for $20? RIDICULOUS.
I’ve played with a lot of other audio doodads, but NS is by far the most amazing.

I second this. It’s flat out the best DAW on the iOS (yes, better than GarageBand).
Somebody didn’t do their market research.
I think Chaos Rings did pretty well for them at that price point, same developer no?
I hope somebody manages to establish a $15-$20 price range in the iOS market, because otherwise it’s only ever going to be the most incidental casual games on the platform.

If I had not just picked up FFT on my PSP where I am NOT playing it either, I would probably pony up the dough for the iPhone version.

Odd. Must have been sleep deprived or drunk. It’s “only” 11.99.

To be fair I did pay for CivRev when it launched at 9.99 in 2009.
