Picked up FFT (€13) and really enjoying it so far; nice to have a game with a bit more depth
Looks great. I’ll have to check it out.
That looks like what I was hoping Tiny Tower was going to be: a real economics sim game. Particularly given the history of the developer, that looks like a safe purchase. If my game backlog weren’t so large, I’d get it.

Any time - any really good games I need to buy to help with their price? ;)
BTW - I haven’t yet figured out what to do with Nanostudio, or even how to use it, but it really appeals to me (I used to try to design sounds for my old Ensoniq keyboard. ;) )
For the subset of QT3 iOS users with kids, we’ve just released our latest game for young kids, Monkey Math School Sunshine.
I know a few people here liked Monkey Preschool Lunchbox, this is essentially more of the same, but more games and math themed and aged up a little bit (ages 3 to 5 pretty much).

Awesome, Peter. Instant buy for us. My kids are always asking for the “Monkey game”.

Yeah, my kid loves Monkey Preschool Lunchbox.
Good timing on the new one, too, since we have a long road trip coming up this weekend.

Seconded. I did a big cull of my 'pod’s games to fit more Nanostudio samples, but this is a keeper. Though it’d be nice to get an upgrade for a survivors to give them kevlar vests or something.

League of Evil is free for those who didn’t get it before.
I certainly appreciate the depth, but everything looks very small and fuzzy in FFT for iPhone. The UI design calls for a bigger screen and thus it’s quite cumbersome to manage the units with my fingers, especially in the battle screen.
I’m not giving up on it yet, though. Maybe it just needs getting used to.
It is a little fiddly selecting squares to attack, but since it’s turn based there’s no rush or anything. Could definitely be better UI though
Excellent. My youngest love both the other monkey games, so I’ll pick it up.
Too bad it wasn’t out when I reviewed a handful of iOS kids learning programs for a major newspaper here.

Picked this up last night, and it’s worth every penny of the $3.99 price tag. It’s the game that’s stopped me from obsessively checking my Tiny Tower every ten minutes, and can easily bring my battery from 100% to 0% before I realize any time has passed.
I know some people who were fans of Game Dev Story didn’t care for Hot Springs Story… I liked both games a lot, and I’d say this one has influences of both in it.
I’m terrible at providing useful review type information though, so here are a few good summaries from Appadvice and Touch Arcade.

Awesome. Tiny Tower started interesting, but once realizing there was 0 challenge, and only minor puzzle solving in trying to put people in their dream jobs, I gave up on it entirely. I was hoping that Mega Mall would scratch that itch I hoped Tiny Tower would!
Some have commented that you can basically max out your mall far quicker than you could do the same in Game Dev Story - any truth to that?

It definitely feels that way, yeah. I’ve just finished the last available improvement to my mall (though I haven’t finished investing in the three surrounding neighborhoods yet) and am only on year 9. The thing is that cash itself is extremely easy to get in the game. By year 6 I could pretty much constantly keep some investment in progress, since they are funded solely by cash. But hearts are the “currency” that you use to purchase new shop plans as well as increase the service levels of your existing shops, and those are a little harder to come by - they’re earned by making your customers happy. So while I’m currently at the maxmium “size” that my mall can be, I’m not anywhere close to A) having it filled up with stores and B) maxing out my stores.
There’s still a lot more gameplay to be had once you’ve expanded your mall to the largest size, so I don’t feel disappointed by the fact that I’ve reached it already.
Sold, will pick this up now! My son loves lunchbox, so he’s sure to love this.

Instant hit in my house, thanks Peter!

Once you’ve completed the 15 years, you carry over your unlocked shops and combos to the next game. So that should be a massive reduction in heart expenditure for subsequent playthroughs. Plus you can build combos right from the start, so your shops should level quicker.

Majesty is finally out. 2.99 and it is universal. It’s been a damn good week for iOS gaming.

I’m generally pretty sick of the faux-retro pixel art vibe, but I can’t stop playing The Last Rocket.
Charming aesthetic, good sound, nice relaxing puzzle platformer gameplay.
I can’t really think of much to complain about with it.
