Am I missing something with Samurai Bloodbath? I only see a $1.99 app in the store and in the description it says I need to buy something else to unlock the free version. To quote every third bad guy in the original Max Payne, “Hey! What the hell?”

Yeah I don’t know what’s up with that. Seems to be the full game. IAP stuff seems to be to be the typical bypass grind stuff, so you can buy card packs. I like it a fair bit so far, but Tracy over in the iPad thread seems to strongly dislike it.

Their wording for the free vs. $2 versions is terrible. The free one isn’t available yet, and I’m not sure what I got for my $2 because they claim that both versions are identical. I do know that paying the $2 doesn’t get you more than the standard starter deck of 20 identical yawn-worthy infantry cards.

To me though that is sort of like complaining that in PvZ you started with only peashooters.

Yeah, if you leave out the part that PvZ has better production values, better pacing, and is interesting to watch.

It’s decent though I’m not sure how long it will it take before wearing thin. I wish the unlocks were just a little bit cheaper, seems like you have to play a while before you can unlock anything cool. Should be a wider gamut of price ranges.

5,622M is my best.

I thought that at first, too. Then I started getting stars from the random tasks, the occasional jackpot from the slot machine spins, etc. At that point you realize that coins get earned faster than it appears at first blush.

Still, I think I might spring for one bit of DLC for it, the one that doubles coin value collected. I’m definitely likely to pull 2 dollars worth of enjoyment from it, so I can live with myself.

I am kinda confused by Samurai Bloodshow. Is the IAP just there to let people skip the slog? Or are there things that are only available through IAP? How grindy is it?

If you’re willing to spend another $1, you can get a coin doubler. I’m really enjoying this game, just learned about it tonight.

Bang! and Pocket RPG are both on sale for $.99.

I like Pocket RPG more on the iPhone than on the iPad.

I haven’t really looked at Bang! yet. I had it on my appshopper wishlist but now that it’s actually down in price I find myself wondering how the hell a game as focused on bluffing as Bang! could possibly play well on iOS.

I picked up Bang a while ago just so I could learn the rules and decide if I wanted to buy it. It played pretty good, but I’m sure it’s more interesting in person.

Frantic Frigates. Free. Fun.

Nobody played Gesundheit?

I don’t have an iDevice but the demo for PC was fantastic. Hope they port it to a good platform where people don’t complain if a game costs more than 99 cents.

Sprinkle is kind of a neat fluid based puzzler.

The venerable Harbor Master is free for a day, on both iPhone and iPad.

God, that really is weapons grade cute, isn’t it?

Harmonix’s VidRhythm is out today.

My slightly less stupid VidRhythm video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABGv8tV4CJ8

That was quite good. And your facial hair is impeccable!

And more!
