It is very likely that every game EA makes will be on massive sale in about a week. Along with a bunch of other manufacturers. Count on it.
Because of iPad 3?
My bet was / is on a big Easter Sale.

Assassin’s Creed Recollection is free. Anyone play it?
I liked it enough to spend a little money on spare cards. I find the AI to be really difficult. The game softballs you four tutorial levels, then slams you in the face with full difficulty without giving you a unified deck out of the gate. I still haven’t beaten any of the single player levels, but boy do I like the system. (Note, I purchased cards at a point in the game’s design where the only way to get more points was to play single player. They had not yet enabled rewards for online play yet)
rule 1: This is not a magic/LOTR/pokemon turn based card game. This is played out in real time, with one full ‘turn’ representing a day, and most actions/refreshes taking half a day. You need to know this up front. Once a match starts, there is no stop or pause and look at your options aside from a basic pause which dims the playfield.
rule 2: The AI is tough and doesn’t pull out the stops from the start.
I like this game, though I’ve not gotten very far.

I’ve played AC Recollection as well, and I like it. Don’t let the real-time thing scare you off – it’s actually very well done and allows both players to be doing stuff at the same time. It’s really not much different from a turn-based game in terms of rules and such. It’s by no means a twitch game.
The AI is pretty hard. This is not one of those games where you’re expected to win every time. The AI is pretty competetant and starts with well-built decks while you’ll start w/ a fairly weak starter deck. You’ll get more cards over time, but unless you buy a ton of cards or something, the AI’s decks will tend to be better than yours.
They’ve made some good changes over time so you can continue to play and get free gameplay currency without spending any cash. Spending cash will always get you new cards faster, of course, but it’s no longer required after a point.

Adventure Bar story is drawing comparisons to Recettear. Here is what I posted in the Recettear thread for anyone who is interested.
I bought ABS and played for about 8 hours and enjoyed those eight hours, but it turns into a grind much more quickly. And I can tolerate a grind for a good while, but there is so little variety in the gameplay and the sales part entails selecting stuff you made, putting it in 8 slots and opening the shop and some sells and some does not. The Action-y fighting gets pretty same-y in Reccetear, but the turn-based fighting (which I generally prefer) is very dry in ABS. I never turn on Autobattle in games, but I did for many of the fights in ABS. You run through the same fixed lay out dungeon each time and just pick up ingredients with a random fight popping up here and there. After about 5 times thorough the dungeons, it gets old.
I went back to Reccetear last night.
hi guys,
I have to share something here:
our latest game “Nosferatu - Run from the Sun” had a mediocre start. endless runners are not exactly rare in the market, but at least we sold about 1500 copies (despite being featured in the N&N games category in several appstores, including the US).
last friday, with another bad sales day coming in, we decided to go free for two days, gather some experience and generally check out how things work when you go free. I estimated about 1k-2k downloads. well, I was wrong. In two days Nosferatu was downloaded more than 100.000 times, we’re still ranked 5 for all iPhone apps in germany and we get mostly 5 or 4 star ratings from all over the world.
even better: we will soon have talks with investors, who didn’t respond to our enquiries when we showed our “real” games, “Time of Heroes” and “Companions”. having an app in the top 5 of a big country certainly helps getting noticed. :-)
to make a long story short: it looks as though our team can continue making games and I feel just great!
if you haven’t checked out Nosferatu, give it a try. it’s free until friday.
we had to produce the game fast, because of lacking resources and we stripped many ideas from the original concept. now things look different. we are already working on an update. with many more to come, for sure.

I suggest you make a doodle jump clone once you seal that lucrative investment deal
Dark Meadows, an infinity blade clone is going to be going free-to-play soon. If you pick it up now early adopters get $10 worth of in game purchases, and no ads.
Pretty good game. It’s got an explorable hospital with snippets of story for you to find and collect. I personally like it over infinity blade for the atmosphere and exploration. The combat is nowhere near infinity blade though, that might just be the fact it’s first person though.
I presume he means “explorable”. Although I could be wrong. The hospital’s staff might be willing to work for really low wages.

Cool game, congratulations on all the downloads. I’d be interested to hear what your sales are like when you boost the price back up. The combination of increased word of mouth, better visibility on top charts, and tons of positive ratings will make a big difference.

He just means that you can clone inventory items, like surgical instruments and MRI machines.
I did mean explorable. I’m typing from an iPad, and it seems autocorrect didn’t want to recognize explorable.
The term “deep pockets” comes to mind. Inventory management FTW.

As long as you don’t keep that shit in the same room. Shutting that machine down to pull a scalpel off the magnet can get expensive. (Per my knowledge of working in a hospital for 7 years 15 years ago.)
That auto correct delivered.
I’m glad it provided some entertainment at the very least.
