Canabalt is getting an update soon, with online leaderboards and a couple new obstacles.

The just released Super Monkey Ball 2 is on sale for $4.99.
The verdict seems to be on the game that it is a vast improvement over the first Monkey Ball, but the controls can still be troublesome.
p.s. I’d guess in honor of the release of Red Conquest, Blue Attack and Blue Defense are on sale for $0.99 each.
35K and change!
Im Hanzii on that OpenFeint-thing.
And as you’ll note next time you check the leaderboards, it’s likely to be miscarried for a while. A buddy of mine here in LA got GeoSpark and we’ve got a friendly* competition going. I suspect I’ll be in the top one hundred if he keeps goading me into having to beat his score.
By the way, by the look of the leaderboards for those of you with the game, I question your commitment to GeoSpark. I was dismayed at Hanzii’s post immediately above this until I friended him and realized he wasn’t talking about GeoSpark when he mentioned his score of 35k. Phew!

- i.e. “How did that effing jerk get that score?!?!???”
Yeah, the trouble with that game is I get vertigo when I’m getting close to my high score, panic and fall to my doom.
[edit]d’oh, I should use the quote function.
Not with that score you won’t!

I bought Red Conquest, haven’t really gotten the hang of it yet but it’s pretty and seems like it has a ton of depth built around basic rts concepts. Might be the first “rts” done right on the iPhone.
Dammit, Tom, shouldn’t you be playing Defender Chronicles or something? How can I beat your high score if you keep improving it? I’m onto you though, the secret seems to be taking it nice and easy and waiting for the x2 bonuses. Those massive combos might seem tempting, but it basically throws the whole screen into chaos.
What do those multi-coloured power ups do? I can’t figure those out.
If there was a zero-position calibration option, it’d be difficult to fault. As it is, the game still works well if I’m sat down the right way, which is a big improvement over the first one in itself. Looks awesome, too.
I think there are minigames being added later, and I sure hope one is Monkey Target.
I think it’s worth the sale price, definitely.

I’m going on a long flight today, and just clicked my way through about $25 worth of new games.
I don’t care what anyone else says, I think the combination of portability, convenience, price, and touch interface makes this the future of gaming. I’m not saying that someone else might not come along and make something that’s just as good, but it has to have all of those same attributes.
I picked up Earth vs. Moon as it’s on sale for $.99, and it’s fantastic. Surprisingly funny, too.
EDIT: And the free Appventcalendar.com game today is iBlast Moki. Don’t miss out on that one.

Hey can any of you recommend me a good rpg/crpg pn the iphone? I’ve played a few lite versions of things but I only want to buy one thats actually decent.
Failings that what are the best games to be filling my iphone up with?
You might want to check out Elven Chronicles, McKnight. It’s more of a Zelda-ish game, but one of the better produced games I’ve seen from unknown publishers.
Depends what you want:
If you want a hardcore RPG and don’t mind circa-Daggerfall graphics, then The Quest is the way to go. MASSIVE world (with the expansions gameplay equals around 100 hours) tons of quests with multiple solutions, well written dialog and story, interesting characters, and the deepest RPG system on the iPhone. The interface isn’t the greatest though.
In the same vein as The Quest but party-based, and slightly better graphics is Undercroft. The quest system isn’t as good and the world isn’t as massive and open, but it’s also a lot of fun and well written, and has a better interface than The Quest.
If you’re looking for more of a jrpg than either Zenonia, Inotia 2: Wanderer of Luone, or Seed 1 is the way to go. Seed I think has the best story, Inotia 2 has the most indepth RPG system, best graphics, and best interface, and Zenonia is somewhere between the two.
There’s also Ravensword, which I really enjoyed, but at this point it’s more of an action-adventure than an RPG. You can’t allocate your stats, although there is a leveling up system. For the expansion they’re planning on creating a more indepth RPG system though. The graphics are utterly mind blowing though for an iPhone game. And it’s well written and is a fun world to explore, with some really stunning scenery.
Oh and if you’re looking to satisfy your Diablo itch on the iPhone than Dungeon Hunter is great.
Thanks for the advice I’ll take a look at the Quest, Undercroft and Inotia 2 and see what they are like. Also might just watch ravensword if you enjoyed it so much, to see when they give it that rpg upgrade.
I did have a look at the free version of this and thought it looked pretty good. Might have a look at this aswell, although what first put me off was thinking it would be really short. Does anyone know if this is the case?
It’s pretty short, but there are three classes to mess with and it only costs a few bucks so it’s still worth it.
The game took me around 9 hours to finish. Which for an iPhone game is pretty long, especially considering the price.

Well its more Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior then it is Zelda. I don’t actually think it is anything like Zelda.
