A quick recommendation here for Wolfenstein RPG. Turn based shooter RPG, it’s pretty fun if you’re into old school wolfenstein and old school RPGs.

since nobody posted it here (couldn’t find it with the thread tools).
But Orbital is totally, totally amazing. It is a mix between billiard and Snood…
It was mentioned here
http://www.edge-online.com/features/the-friday-game-gimme-friction-baby
and I can’t stop playing it. The chemistry of the game is perfect. My highscore is 55, which is not bad. The best score is 199 (Open feint)
you can play it here online http://gimmefrictionbaby.com/
But I think the Iphone version with gravity turned on is better…
cheers,
George
anyone playing here? Because of Orbital I could not continue my Defender Chronicles game :-(
I have that game but find it almost impossible to keep going for more than about ten seconds. What controls the size of the balls you shoot?

the size of the balls is increasing until it hits a wall or another ball. Sometimes it is good to have a huge ball, then you can shoot a second ball and it will bounce on and off due to the gravity force of the first ball.
I still don’t have a perfect strategy, because the playing field is ever changing. But trying to create a “cave” or “tunnel” out of 3-5 balls and then trying to shoot for the tunnel was a good way…
it is a nice mix of strategy and shooting skills (like billiard I guess ). Just love it.
when I started I only could score 3-5 points. Now I usually get 10-20 points average… the iphone version is on facebook without leaderboards.
Nice.
The iPhone version with gravity is both easier (but hard) and better looking.
So now that you’ve had more time to play it, any good?

Here are Toucharcade’s thoughts on Red Conquest.

I really wish it had the OpenFeint leaderboards, though. I can get to the low 40s on a lucky game, but I’m never going to be good enough at it to make the global high scores even remotely useful.

All of the Konami iPhone titles are on sale for 99 cents through 1/4. Any of them any good?

While I haven’t had too much more time to play this, I can pretty much agree with everything said here… there is a steep learning curve but I think once I get the hang of it this will be the best rts on the iPhone.
Just finished Nick Chase: A Detective Story. I like the idea of adventure games but I’m bored or frustrated by most actual specimen, due to running around endlessly in search of cat hair mustaches or the like. Fortunately Nick Chase is not one of those. Some puzzles are of the simple find-X-items variety but at least they make sense in the story context, and there are many clever ones as well. There’s a very player-friendly hint system for when you get stuck (which I had to use near the end of the game), and the story is a comfortably clichéd and well-presented noir crime mystery. Recommended for any adventure game fans.
7 Cities (TD game) is free for a day. This one has excellent ratings.

Very good tower defense mechanically, insanely boring to play.
Awesome, and just as I’m done with Defender Chronicles!

There’s been an update for Rogue Planet. Several tweaks and bugfixes, but the most notable thing is the Self Destruct command requires a confirmation now.
Adree is right… 7 Cities really is boring. Just surround the one predefined lane with a mix of towers, then watch the slooow ships crawl by and getting blown up. Pretty game, but also pretty dull.
Also, I’m not getting Blue Attack. Seems like a twin-stick shooter that’s missing the second stick, and has the view zoomed in way too close. Is this game just a shooter for people who absolutely want tilt controls? I don’t like tilt controls, and the touch controls seem worthless compared to any number of twin-stick shooters on the platform.
Just noticed that Sentinel: Mars Defense, a tower defense game that’s the prequel to Sentinel 2: Earth Defense, is now free.
